Pot 1: Australia, New Zealand, China, Philippines
Pot 2: Iran, Japan, South Korea, Lebanon
Pot 3: Qatar, India, Jordan, Palestine
Pot 4: Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Kuwait

A sample group draw would look like this:

Group A - Australia, Lebanon, Qatar, Kuwait
Group B - Philippines, Iran, Palestine, Kazakhstan
Group C - China, Japan, Jordan, Hong Kong
Group D - New Zealand, South Korea, India, Chinese Taipei
I don't think that China will participate because they are already qualified.

Some news about 2017 Fiba Asia Cup : Australia is strongly consider bidding to host the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup or the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup. There is also the possibly of Australia and New Zealand making a joint bid. As FIBA doesn't have control over the NBA or NCAA college basketball, the Australian players in those two competitions won't be released for the international windows in November and February, but they should still be free for the June and September windows.

I hope that the draw will take place after the 2017 Fiba Asia Cup. It will give more interests to this competition..
