    Default Taiwan SBL 2015-2016 Season

Ho Shou-Cheng of Fubon announced his retirement. Also, former national team player Hsu Shichiang who played for Bank of Taiwan decided to retire due to lack of playing time.

Ho is only 32 while Hsu is only 33. Both cases have some similarities with their situation. Lack of opportunities and lack of playing time. Journeyman veterans are not valued most of the time.

For the new season, the SBL board have discussed the following:

    1. Consisten venues for SBL season and playoffs as well as the finals.
    2. Possibility of opening SBL for Chinese players to play in the SBL as a way to balance the departure of SBL stars playing in China.
    3. More SBL events and promotional planning.
    4. Broadcasting revamp. It is known that HBL playoffs averaged more viewers compared to SBL playoffs.
    5. Make SBL flexible enough to accommodate FIBA Asia changes starting in 2017.

Jet Chang is playing for KIA Carnival in the PBA. May I know the last team he played for prior to his PBA stint and also career stats?

First ever SBL Summer League will tip off September 1, 2015. It will be a circuit for SBL Draft Aspirants that will play an inter-team scrimmage that fans and scouts of SBL teams will be able to watch.

Also, SBL board said that Chang Tsung-Hsien aka Jet Chang will not be given any special provisions for playing in the SBL. Chang must apply in the draft to be able to sign with an SBL team. Since the SBL draft application has lapsed for this year, Chang can apply for next year.

Nice. Great to see Kuya Marcus in action, and with one of my favorite TPE Player Chou Yi-Hsiang. God Bless the Team.

Why Douthit can't play as a local player in PBA?

Just came across this young Thai/Taiwanese American basketball player on Youtube, he's pretty good. He just played in this year's Thai League and from what I've heard from the locals here he just finished playing high school ball in the US. Interesting to see if he will play for teams in the SBL in the future... What do you guys think?

Taiwan Beer's Lai Guowei decided not to play this season and for the foreseeable future due to personal reasons involving his family.
