Good for the HS kids who will be having their semestral breaks around that time, but possibly not for those based abroad.
    Keep running, big boy.

is it based on the new uaap and ncaa calendar? sorry not really familiar. BT can shed a light on this.

            • First semester for UP and Ateneo starts on August, while the second half of the school year will begin on January. Unfortunately the UAAP jrs. does not base the season on the calendars of these 2 schools alone.

UP, UST, and Ateneo will start classes in August while DLSU is planning a September start but will most probably move down to August to comply with CHEd rules. However, these new calendars are only for the college level. Per DepEd, June 1 is the official start for basic ed levels.

Thanks. So it's still the old calendar until senior high. Since K-12 is in full swing, any possible drawbacks in terms of availability for the U-18 team next year? The tentative date for FIBA Asia U18 is September 1.

Yep, same old calendar. As long the U18 doesn't coincide with the high school tournaments, the kids should be good to go. The UAAP moved its juniors calendar precisely to accommodate these international tournaments. The NCAA has yet to follow suit, which could be a cause for concern if ever players from the likes of San Beda, SSC-R, and LSGH will be tapped.

                    • Flores may be a casualty with the change in tourney date. He attends a school in Bangkok. Not sure when the regular tourney date for Hope and CKS. The old TL league was played after both the NCAA and UAAP season, Dec-Feb.

                        • OK here is a treat : AJ provided his latest highlight video

                          delete

Note he basically just turned 15, so you can see he's still growing into his body. (no strength yet ) but obvious is his skill set. (may galaw) he has also a decent stroke and is mobile .

sorry guys, will upload link on a later date.

will he be available on october/november? would be nice to him and belanjel play together. hope he can play and do a PNR play with belanjel.

that belanjel kid is good. if he wanted to he can really score a lot but he knows he is a PG and knows when to involve his teammates. i hope he show his true game in fiba asia. a good pg with good upper body strength at his age.

belanjel will surely have a fan base in indonesia much like what kobe had.

Sige na , i'll answer the question, AJ thinks he can be avaialble but will check with his school.
As to the Batang Gilas coaching staff they're in dire need of a big man to compete at the FIBA Asia level. So they wil take in AJ regardless of the circumstances (e.g limited practice)
