Solomon Alabi had a monster game against Dacin and Lu Cheng-Ju right on target. I look for Alabi to score more to free up Yulon's shooters. As for Dacin, Reggie Okosa held his own against the towering Alabi but did not had the support from other players besides Tien Lei.

Meanwhile Patrick O'Bryant did good against Quincy Davis and Pure Youth, but could have done more if not for foul troubles. Liu Cheng outplayed Ke Chi-Hao.

Taiwan Beer vs. KKL

TB's Liu Cheng is an emerging all around player and not just a scorer. He reminds me of a young Lin Chih-Chieh during those glory days. Liu can still improve by a lot by honing his three point shooting and free-throw accuracy. Rumor has it that Aaron Pettway of KKL is being replaced. Chen Jing-Huan of KKL could be matched up with Liu Cheng or Zuo Tsun-Kai.

Yulon vs. Bank of Taiwan

The most interesting game. Both teams are 2-2 and could be a close contest. Solomon Alabi and Liam McMorrow are the two tallest foreigners and it will be quite a battle in the paint. BT's Zhou Boxun is a solid defensive PF to start the season. Both teams have capable scorers in the wings where the two Chou's, Chou Po-Chen and Chou Shih-Yuan for Yulon.

It was all over the middle of the second quarter for KKL when Taiwan Beer was off to a hot start. Liu Cheng and Patrick O'Bryant got it done.

As for Yulon, they shot better than BT in the 4th where Lu Cheng-Ju made key baskets as well as Li Wei. Yulon overcame the horrible game of Solomon Alabi who looked lost out there with foul troubles. Bank of Taiwan wasted the 20-20 double double of McMorrow.

Saw the game of Lin Chih-Chieh for Zhejiang. Unusual to see him not make a three pointer in all his attempts, but he almost had a triple double but it wasn't enough to save Zhejiang as they fell to Shanghai Sharks. Lin had a chance to go up against Quincy Douby.

Luke Nevill is a complete player. Able to pass in the post or while on the roll to the basket. Good job by Taiwan Mobile in signing a fundamental bigman.

Despite Chen Hsin-An's retirement, Pure Youth head coach Tsu Chin-Tse stated that Chen is more than welcome to sit with the team during games.

True enough, Chen's mentorship was embraced by the team last year when they won the championship.

One of those games where Quincy Davis struggled yet Pure Youth winning convincingly against KKL. Team chemistry is unbelievable for the defending champions. They pass and share the ball leading to scoring.

I have seen some games of Michael Fey in Japan's BJ-League team with Shinshu Brave Warriors. It will be interesting on how we will adapt quickly to help save his new team's season.

Yulon should include more passes inside to Solomon Alabi. The team can use more interior shots with Alabi already a dominant rebounder. Sabatino Chen should call for more post situations.

Quincy Davis was asked on what he felt and how he approached the season with the signing of foreign players that are seven feet and above. Davis said that he never felt intimidated, but welcomed it as a challenge and would like to get to know the likes of McMorrow to show them the life in Taiwan.

Davis added that unlike the countries he has been to, players in Taiwan from the SBL are commonly neighbors and are tight knitted; same goes for the foreign players.

Despite Davis being undersized against the likes of Solomon Alabi and Patrick O'Bryant, his performance did not dip as what others had speculated.

Yulon played like a contender.

Probably the best season so far for Yang Jingmin in the CBA with Xinjiang. They are currently 2nd as 2013 ends with Yang shooting at a hight percentage from 2 and 3 FGs.
