Default Taiwan Super Basketball League 2013-2014 Season

Yulon Luxgen signed former Colorado U product Sabatino Chen to a contract. Chen flew to Taiwan last week after getting an invitation for a tryout by Yulon's scouting staff. Based from the comments on press releases, the staff and management was impressed by Chen's defense.

Last season, Yulon's record was disappointing despite having the promising Lee Ti Wei alongside national team standouts like Lu Cheng-Ju. They almost put it together but finished just above .500

Yulon's foreign player is Brad Kanis, a seven footer.

While Taiwan Bank recruited Liam Mcmorrow, who played for the Knicks summer league team this year.

Taiwan Beer's foreign player, Scott Merritt scored 34 points today against the taller Liam McMorrow. Merritt used his strength and face-up game to score against McMorrow. The latter seems to be bothered by Merritt's physical approach as McMorrow only had 12 points and 2 rebounds.

I mistyped that one. I thought Howell will comeback to Dacin?

I think four Busan Sonicboom players were ejected. They started it.

Good game by Chunghsiu Nai aka Ben Chung. My choice for rookie of the year. He will be considered for the national team for sure as he is 6'6 and from what I see, plays like Tyreke Evans in terms of strenght: body, ball-handling and aggressiveness.

That was a much improved game from Liam Mcmorrow against the US team. But he is still under the testing phase by Dacin's coaching staff.

Dacin makes the signing of Liam Mcmorrow official. He had a bad start on his first game and most likely from jet lag, but he progressed each game. With the help of a translator, he was able to accomplish what Dacin's Hsu Chih-Chao wanted.

Taiwan Bank is considering Zack Atkinson, a very athletic foreign player.

Pure Youth's Douglas Creighton is leaving the team as he will play for Jiangsu in the CBA. This will affect the defending champions. Meanwhile, Su Yi-Chieh will return to the SBL to play for Taiwan Beer once again.

So Yulon will sign Zeke Marshall, who applied for the 2013 NBA Draft?

Does this mean that Lee Ti Wei will see more time as a PF? Last season, Mamadou Lamizana split with Lee for the center spot.

Moving on, Quincy Davis will have a challenge with these new batches of tall foreign players.

Zhongxiu Nai has already played for the U16 of Chinese Taipei. His father was also a player for the NT.

Saw only the highlights of the Dongguan - Dacin exhibition game. It seems that it was a furious paced game with hardly any defense atleast in transition. Dongguan's Li MuHao dunked as well as Tien Lei managed a dunk.

Quincy Davis looks undersized now, that is after two seasons of being the tallest foreign player. Dacin's Okosa is a veteran of Japanese basketball while Ater Majok is fresh from being cut in Korea. I am interested on how Luke Nevill will fare for Taiwan Mobile. He is fundamentally solid.
