you seemed to have a hard time understanding. RP assembled a team of the remaining available amateurs (some were withheld due to other reasons), the current team lacks height and heft, assembled in a short span of time and pitted against grizzled professional players from other SEA countries who were already playing together. RP's top scorer turns out to be the next tallest player after Douthit. Unless Rosario can turn to be a Lebron-esque type of player (the best scorer and best defender) then all is well and good. But I doubt that is the case. Lebron even got burned out playing that role consistently. The presence of Douthit makes it easier for Rosario to score as he did not exhaust too much energy in defending the other big men. Other teams also had time scoring scoring inside against a legit 7 footer. But how long can Douthit stay on this team? if the stakeholders will have the same attitude in assembling a SEA Games team, i doubt we can win it next time. still i am glad though that we have a naturalized player on this current team.

Impossible proposition, Junemar is already in the PBA. But if PBA and SMB suddenly makes an out of the ordinary decision to exempt JF from playing in the PBA to be in the SEA Games, then well and good.

          • with this team lacking 3pt shooters, I had a hard time thinking of who are our best shooters in the amateurs...

then I remember, Sumang didn't make the cut. Also others like Clark Bautista, Trollano maybe. Every team need a 3pt specialist at the buttom of the bench. This team only has one, Vosotres.

Does sea games require residency on naturalized players?

            • I doubt. Singapore would also suffer with their naturalized players in other sports.

Yes and no, it depends on ones perspective sort of like Glass half full or half empty. bottom line is we won right? Obviously the team including coaching has flaws , if you look at the way they played and acted on and off the court. There are definite positives to take out of it ( ball movement, discipline defense, good attitude in terms of respect to game, the body laguage of how they interact with the coach ( you didn't see players lact attention when Tab gave instructions, believe me you see a lot of that in local coaches in the Philippines, guys simply turning off. You also see the players respect for Tab , specifically Marcus, while that might sound like a trivial thing , it's not- Marcus doesn't respect all coaches , especially some Filipino coaches, just saying. Gilas to me is a whole diffirent set-up , Gilas is essentially a continuation of the World cup team, which Tab was already a part off, so you can actually get more insigtht on the World cup experinece with Tab and Gilas than you can get with the SEA and Sinag. Now i will say this while most of the Gilas players like Tab and they respect him, not everybody is as found of him (which actually is normal, you never get a coach were all players find him as their favorite coahes, or at least has nothing that some players don't like, there is always going to be something players don't like with a coach , Tab included. I've heard some complaints. but what coach doesn't get complaints.

It was a hypothetical question addressed to you. Love how you dodged the bullet with your answer. I see a lot of those in the corporate world.

Would you care directly answering the question by trig?

                  • indonesia is playing like pinoys during the last 2 minutes. relying heavily on hero ball led by Wisnu and at time Enguino. too much hero ball.

BAP will not like this. Right Durden?

We should have sent our youth team - BAP (Durden)
I remember someone hated the term"PUSO" so much.
A few years later, "PUSO" has become Gilas's battle cry.

Now i know where Manu_bol's hate is coming from.

I will take a stab at this. JF is nowhere the defensive presence that Douthit is. In fact, a healthy Slaughter might be a better option. However, JF is a very good rebounder and strong inside operator. His presence inside will force the refs to blow the whistle. I think our team will still win with JF in place of Douthit. But that would be an impossible request. As JF is only starting to recover from playing major minutes and from the Gilas campaign.

We could have used Tautuaa or AVO. Those are more probable scenarios. I think we would have still won with Tautuaa. With AVO only, I dont think so.

                            • Part of our being the guy in asean basketball is we can talk trash at our opponents. Heck even usa will send u22 against continental all stars for their own world cup. Ganyan sila kayabang, but yesterday match can be an eye opener. Because MVP may press the panic button and send a pba selection with cadets the next sea games, because we may be more skilled and more energetic but sea opponents resort to our game which is more of a mans game. Did we see Indonesia flop on calls the way Singapore and Thailand did?
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                              1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

                              • Glad to see Belo breakout, for a while i had concerns with this guy, i felt Ferrer was out playing him.
I talked to coach Nash on what he envisioned Belo's position as a pro (he plays PF in FEU) , he said SF. But watching the 1st few Sinag games i felt un impressed and felt his lack of mobility and inconsistency from outside makes him suspect as a small forward. (actually i'm still unsure if he can play SF in the PBA)
