Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. Thank you very much Gazara.
For me, Gilas' experience in Dubai is very very valuable particularly for the amateur players. Despite it's dismal showing in the tournament, I think the Filipino players learned a lot from the experience which is crucial for their development as players & perhaps future national team players. I don't mind if Gilas lost almost all of it's games in Dubai. My only concern was if the team could compete well in all it's games. I think the level of competition in that tournament was pretty high & it's really good that our young players were exposed to such level while they are still young.
Well, except for that humiliating 30-point blow out loss to Sagesse, I think the team played competitively in the other games.
Right now, Gilas is playing in a tournament in Hongkong, but the level of competition is obviously a far cry from that in Dubai. Among the participants in this tournament are South East Asian teams, a team from China & from the US. South East Asian teams are obviously weak teams. Maybe only the teams from China & the US will give Gilas some challenge.
Gilas has now won it's first 3 games w/ an average margin of 40+ points which gives you an idea of how low the competition is in this tournament.
Now come to think of this, many Filipinos are disappointed with Gilas' overall performance in Dubai as we placed only 6th out of 7 teams. In this tournament in Hongkong, we have a very good chance of winning the tournament. Perhaps we will win by an average margin of 25+ points. Now the question is: which tournament would our team benefit more? Which experience is better, ending up 6th place against quality opposition or dominating a tournament of "patsies"?
Again, thank you my friend for providing some stats of that game. I really appreciate it.

For sure the first option (ending up in 6th place against quality opposition)... Moreover I always believe that a team can learn much more from it's losses rathen that from it's wins.
