Meet the filipino reinforcements of Saigon Heat! Jai Reyes and fil-am Philip Morrison

The Saigon Heat held a meet and greet with their fans at Tan Binh Stadium over the weekend to introduce their team for the 2013 ASEAN Basketball League season. Their most recent signings are two explosive guards, Phillip Morrison and Jai Reyes. These two players will be one of the most exciting backcourt tandems to watch this upcoming season.

Morrison is a 6'0 combo guard who spent three seasons with the Asbury University who are playing in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Morrison has the ability to hurt from the inside and outside. He is able to get to the rim and finish once he's there plus he's also a threat from the 3-point line. During his senior year, Morrison averaged 21.7 points per game while shooting 50% from the field.

Morrison's backcourt partner for next year, Jai Reyes, is a proven scorer as well. Playing 14 games with the Bangkok Cobras last season, Reyes has become a fan favorite instantly. Reyes has proven himself as a lightning fast guard who can create for his teammates and also score the ball very well. The 25 year-old guard averaged 14.3 points per game last season. He even recorded a double-double on March 11 when he dropped 14 points and dished out 10 assists against the JobStreet.com Singapore Slingers.

How are our neighbors scouting Fil-Ams? Or aren't they good enough even for our D-League?

Easy basket for Eric Menk asst. from Rizada. Lowhorn shoots another 2 for Saigon. 47-26 SMB end of 1st half! @ABLnews

If we ask this question with Pringle and Chris Banchero, obviously not the latter, but if we base our assumptions to Vaugh Canta and John Smith? lol

It is a practice game after all but if the young guys can stop players like Minor Pain-- the ABL is going to be called a PBA Washed-Up League like recent years

sometimes a well-motivated bunch of elementary kids can beat a team of demotivated PBA washouts.

Did Moala Tautuaa play for the KL Dragons on those games?

Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV
