I am definetely happy. Brazil will pass through to the quarter-finals and we wont have to face the USA.

Does WQ1 and WQ2 mean we will get the 1st and 2nd place teams from the Olympic Qualifying Tournament? Or do they just qualify 3 teams and then do a draw?

The additional draw will be held after qualifiers

Regarding draw, kinda interesting groups. "A" one looks like little bit stronger with USA bein' clear favorites and Tunisia outsiders. France and Argentina + 2 qualifiers promises an interesting battle for play-offs spots. "B" one looks little bit weaker. Spain should be 1st. China most probably will have to deal with outsiders role. Everything else depends on what kind of rosters will bring GB and Brazil, while Australia without Bogut doesn't look too convincing. I'd say Spain, Brazil and qualified team should be through, while key game will be between Brits and Aussies for the last spot

its 3 slots, I don't know if is like Pre-Olympic final order... don't think so.

if Brazil plays with all players incluiding Nene, maybe a chance for 2nd place in best of chances, but a 3rd would be a more solid result... let's see what european will came to our group.

Group A looks to have gotten the stronger team from five of the six pairs. Not necessarily a bad thing since it means a more favorable knockout stage draw.

Seems A is a little bit tougher, though we can't get a full idea until the qualifiers are over. Did kind of want the US to play GB, but there's an outside shout they could meet in the knockout stage.

So Australia has no Irving or Bogut?

And England probably has Deng, Gordon, Mensah-Bonsu and BJ Mullens?

I think England may have the advantage.

"A" a little bit stronger? Land Lithuania and Russia (or Greece) to A group and these groups are totally different in terms of quality. Basically only Spain stands there as a winning Olympic team in B group as Australia's good times are so deep in the history. Off course potentially Brazil and GB might be a power in 2012 (far from being convinced of that) and there should be another strong European team, but if happens as I said most of (usually) successful Olympic teams will be in A group - USA, Argentina, Lithuania, France.

Saying that it's better to be in group A looking forward to knockout stage

a group can become scary and poor tunisie all i can say... imagine from qualifiers comes to group A Russia and Lithuania.
Usa-France-Argentina-Russia-Lithuania in one group !!! this gonna become a bar fight just for qualifying to 1/4 game and group b will be like paradise if compare a and b...But anyway if my national will make olimpic games i still would choose group A its better have bar fights in group game and relative talking have easier oponent in most important stage 1/4 ;]

So Lithuania has been drawn into the same group as the United States in the mens' basketball tournament:

                            Group A

                            Argentina
                            France
                            Lithuania
                            Nigeria
                            Tunisia
                            U.S.A.

                            Group B

                            Australia
                            Brazil
                            China
                            Great Britain
                            Russia
                            Spain

This means we'll definitely get to see another classic battle between the United States and Lietuva!
