In their last 2 prep games the Opals won a close game with Brazil 78-75 (Belinda Snell 28, Liz Cambage 24) and then lost to France 64-58 playing without Lauren Jackson and Suzy Batkovic. Belinda Snell again high scorer for her team (14), Yacoubou and Gruda 14 & 12 for the winners.

Aussie "A" and "B" teams are both in China.

The Opals, which is missing 90% of its best players but still enough to beat New Zealand (Maybe? Or I guess both team are already qualified for the 2014 Worlds) lost to China 64-69 in Game 1 despite 24 from Belinda Snell. Zhao Shuang led China with 17.

The Emerging Opals though got destroyed by their Chinese counterpart 43-78 and outrebounded 16-35. What is the makeup of this team? They also lost to Netscouts/USA by a huge margin:
The NetScouts Basketball Women’s All-Stars romped over the Australian Rising Opals 82-49 in PingXiang, China late last night before a crowd of 3,429. It was the first game of an 11-game China tour for the team. The game was played in an extremely hot PingXiang Arena. The arena is not air conditioned and the temperature […]
