The above-mentioned imports are already practicing or at least confirmed to play for their respective ballclubs. That leaves 5 teams for the Marcus Douthit lottery (btw he still has to decide until jan.20 whether to play in the pba or not). Then what if only two teams want his services - Powerade and TNT... that would be fun.

Well, his familiar with casio and lassiter and charles tiu, could be a big boost in a relatively short tournament. Or not. other imports have impressive resume and some are younger so who knows.

Isn't CBA conference runs through until March? If so, Douthit will be available on the said date. I just don't know if his team is on the brink of early elmination that will pave way for his early PBA stint.

wtf is wrong with the PBA? why put Marcus Douthit on a lottery, he should've been considered as an import in the 1st place. hopefully they enlighten the general public with this one, provide a logical explanation pls.
It's ironic to see limited efforts from players with maximum salary.
I wish they would apply "sabermetrics" in those financially challenged PBA teams to acquire players who are value for their money.

He's not quite an import and not quite a Filipino. Good luck finding logic on this one. (Also, will MVP allow him to play with other teams since they own him?)

DerMarr was a 1st round (6th pick overall) by the Atlanta Hawks in 2000 and at 6'9 plays guard-forward..

Group E Player to Watch: Matt Haryasz, GasTerra Flames

The man in the middle for Dutch champion GasTerra Flames is Matt Haryasz and he is a player that many around Europe will be familiar with by the end of the Eurocup season. Groningen became the fifth stop in Haryasz’s first three seasons playing in Europe, but the versatile center seems to have found a home. He dominated in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds at the start of the season, but his team was ultimately overmatched by Unics Kazan. Now Haryasz takes his skills to the Eurocup where he will try to lead the Flames to the next round by dominating the paint in every game.

Haryasz made a name for himself during a standout college basketball career at Stanford University, where he was named First Team All Pacific-10 Conference after his senior season and finished among the school’s alltime top 10 in blocked shots and rebounding. Following a productive year in the NBDL with Arkansas, Haryasz came to Europe first with Italian side Napoli. Things did not go as well as planned and he soon moved to Bremerhaven in Germany, where he established himself as a dominant big man. A strong season in Belgium with Oostende followed before moving to Israeli side Bnei Hasharon last season. An early-season injury torpedoed that stint, but Haryasz wound up in Groningen, where he dominated as he led GasTerra to the Dutch League title and has become a fixture for the team.

Haryasz has the size and all the skills of a classic center: An array of low-post moves, great timing for rebounding and blocking shots and the eye to find the open man when double-teamed. His fine mid-range shot and face-up game complicates matters for defenders and makes it easy for Haryasz to rack up points, as he did against Kazan in the Euroleague Qualifying. Now that the Eurocup has rolled around, look for Haryasz to remain GasTerra’s go-to guy as he displays his skills on both ends of the floor and tries to take his team to new heights.

Denzel Bowles: 29 rebounds in 2 games

                            Chr1stopher | Sunday, December 18th, 2011

Denzel Bowles continues to play like the Pro that his team is very much in need of. This weekend, Bowles had two outstanding performances in back-to-back games:

On Friday night, Bowles put up a career-high 30 points on 13 of 21 shooting and gave his team a great shot at a tough win against Kaunas. He also grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out 4 assists, but is was just not enough to keep his team from losing by just 4 points.

Saturday, against Kedainia, Bowles had another big rebounding night, pulling down 15 while also scoring 8 points.

Denzel Bowles is currently averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds in the Baltic League, and 12 points, 7 rebounds in Lithuanian play.

Denzel Bowles: 27 pts, 8 reb, 7 ast

                            Chr1stopher | Saturday, December 24th, 2011

Two days before Christmas and Denzel Bowles remains as focused as ever. Last night, in a double-overtime game against Rudupis, Bowles helped carry his team to a 110-104 victory.

Siauliai was ahead nearly 20 points going into halftime and all was looking good. Rudupis started the second half very strong, and by the 4th quarter and made it a close game again.

Bowles finished the game with 27 points, while shooting a perfect 7 of 7 from the free-throw line. He also added 8 rebounds and 7 assists to give him a very well rounded performance.

the only thing special about douthit at this point is his marketability...but skills and age wise there definitely are better options around.
