    Default Kaleb Tarczewski

Kaleb Tarczewski intrigues me. The Arizona bound 7 foot center is surprisingly mobile; runs the floor like a gazette and is very coordinated with both footwork and hand coordination: able to catch drop, cut and ping passes from guards in transition.

Has a solid low post movement set. Uses up-and-unders in variations to finish against athletic defenders. Excellent footwork as well. Makes good use of pump dribbles. I think he can stand to learn the split second feel mode when posting up and explore the 180 turn or a turner jumper. Also, needs to develop low-post passing skills.

He has been proficient with either left or right, can finish with the semi-hook or lay-in. In the perimeter, can shoot the mid-range and has shown the range to connect from beyond the arc.

Rebounds well, able to follow up misses. Makes good use of 50/50 possessions with his mobility.

In the defensive end, closes the lane well when converging from strong to weak sides. Has a modest leap to challenge shots, but needs more twitches on timing and vertical to challenge more athletic players. Bodies up well when isolated with a post player, able to bother or challenge shots beneath. Will need more weight gain and muscle to be more effective for a low post defender.

Needs to get stronger though as he needs more weight and upper body strength to compete in the NCAA. KT is one of those cases where growth spurts happened and he carried over the guard fundamentals into a center's body, picking up skills bigman skills along the way.

Worth to admit that Tarczewski has got polish descent and Polish Basketball Federation is in touch with him. He admitted that his grandfather was orginally from Poland and then moved to States because World War II, but he is not too interested in playing for Polish National Team. Nothing surprisingly, especially that he has got chance to play even to USA team.

I will definitely watch a couple of Arizona's games this year due to Tarczewski alongside fellow freshmen Brandon Ashley and Gabe York.
