Good riddance, Rob Reyes. You're a scrub, a bust and does NOT even deserve half of the max salary.
seriously, if Rob Reyes is a max player, then we should pay willy wilson, espinas, gaco at least P500,000 a month. hahahaI'm back. Don't ask why. Just be glad.

MANILA, Philippines - Joseph Uichico said yesterday trading places with Siot Tanquingcen in a Barangay Ginebra coaching shift won’t be a problem in the PBA this coming season because they’ve worked together for years and they enjoy good chemistry.
“I really don’t mind,” said Uichico. “I respect Siot’s coaching ability. It’s all about setting aside egos for the good of the team. We work well together. When I joined Ginebra from San Miguel Beer in 2006, Siot slid down to assistant coach and I took over as head coach. Siot was also in the coaching staff when I was head coach at San Miguel. I may be senior to Siot but with us, it doesn’t matter because we work as a team for the team.”
Uichico, 49, has won eight PBA titles so far, six with San Miguel, while Tanquingcen, 38, has claimed three, including two with Ginebra. “Maybe, if it were somebody else and I was super senior to the new guy, I would mind,” joked Uichico. “But seriously, I have no problems with the change. I’ll support Siot just as he has supported me.”
Ginebra starts practice at Xavier Gym on Monday morning with the players expected to report in full force. Eric Menk is on the way back here from a vacation in the US.
Uichico said from what he knows, offer sheets will be tendered to the Kings’ two draft picks Reil Cervantes and James Martinez.
“We’ve got a full lineup,” said Uichico. “What’s admirable is Jay-Jay Helterbrand’s attitude. He asked to be signed only for one conference. It came from him, not us. He wants to find out if he can still play at a high level, if he still has the drive to compete. He’s giving himself one conference to test.”
Uichico said during last Sunday’s draft, Shopinas offered to trade a future first pick for the Kings’ ninth overall selection, which turned out to be Cervantes. “Since we had a full lineup, the offer was tempting but Boss Robert (Non) advised us to hold on to the pick,” said Uichico. “Anyway, we could still trade our choice for a future pick later if we wanted. It turned out to be a blessing because we really need to shore up our frontline. I haven’t seen Cervantes play in a while so I’m eager to see him at practice.”
As for Martinez who was chosen in the second round, Uichico said it will be tough to take away minutes from Helterbrand, Mike Cortez and Rob Labagala but he sees promise in the UE hotshot.
Uichico said he expects the Kings to show up in full force at practice on Monday. “I know Yancy (de Ocampo), Rob, Billy (Mamaril), Ronald (Tubid) and Jimbo (Aquino) are in town,” he added. “I’m not sure about the others. We’ve told everyone to report for practice on Monday.”
With Tanquingcen back as head coach, Ginebra hopes to improve on its 34-24 record last season. The Kings were eliminated by San Miguel in the semifinals of the Philippine Cup, lost to Talk ‘N’ Text in the Fiesta Conference finals and fell a win short of making it to the Governors Cup finals.

Mark Caguioa, 5 others get fresh deals from Ginebra
MANILA, Philippines – No less than six players, led by top gun Mark Caguioa, has been re-signed by Barangay Ginebra before starting its training tomorrow for the coming season under returning head coach Siot Tanquingcen.
Caguioa inked a fresh two-year pact worth P8.4 million even as Eric Menk settled for a one-year contract-extension deal (P4.2 million) and Jayjay Helterbrand just for a one-conference agreement.
With an assortment of injuries slowing him down in the last two years, Helterbrand wants to see how he fares in the first conference.
“If he can’t cope anymore, he might call it quits,” SMC official Robert Non told The STAR.
“He’s thinking on returning to the United States. He said his daughter there is growing fast. He wants to be with her,” Non also said.
Helterbrand is 34 and has been in the league since 2000, reaching the pinnacle of his career in winning the MVP award in 2009.
He’s easily among the league’s best in the last 10 years, gaining two Mythical Five honors, two All-Star MVP plums and twice making the national team roster (in Fiba Asia joust in Tokushima in 2007 and the Asian tilt in Tianjin in 2009).
But injuries just won’t spare the heady guard in the last two years.
Rico Villanueva also signed a new contract, ready to plunge back into action having recovered from a knee injury.
Ginebra also re-signed Yancy de Ocampo, thus, keeping a solid frontline rotation despite Rudy Hatfield’s decision not to return anymore.
Filling in the spot left by Hatfield is former FEU banger Reil Cervantes.
Only Talk n Text and Petron Blaze remain in vacation with Ginebra opening training camp tomorrow.
Both the Texters and the Boosters start preparing for the coming season on Sept. 14.
The 2011-2012 PBA season kicks off with the Philippine Cup on Oct. 2.
Despite health woes, the Kings fared well last season, finishing second in the Commissioner's Cup and narrowly missing the finals in the Governors Cup.

Jay-Jay Helterbrand
Like Ginebra teammate Rudy Hatfield, Jayjay Helterbrand is now thinking on calling it quits.
In fact, the one-time MVP awardee has just settled for only a one-conference contract-extension deal.
“Tignan nya raw muna kung kaya pa nya. Pag hindi na, baka bumalik na daw sya sa US dahil lumalaki na raw ang anak nya. Gusto nyang mabantayan sa paglaki,” said SMC official Robert Non.
Father time beckons for Helterbrand, who’s easily among the league’s best in the last decade.
Helterbrand, 34, has been in the league since 2000, reaching the pinnacle of his career in winning the MVP award in 2009.
He’s also a recipient of two Mythical Five honors, two All-Star MVP plums plus the honors of donning the national colors in the last two Fiba Asia championships.
He alternated with Jimmy Alapag in playing the pointguard chores for the Philippine team in the 2007
Tokushima meet and with Willie Miller in manning the same spot for the Nationals in the 2009 Tianjin joust.
But age seems to have caught up with Helterbrand.
He’s been bothered by an assortment of health woes in the last two years.
The other half of Ginebra’s famed “Fast and Furious” duo is coming off another good season, that merited him a lucrative contract-extension deal.
Mark Caguioa led eight players who have just been re-signed by Barangay Ginebra.
Caguioa inked a fresh two-year pact worth P8.4 million even as Eric Menk settled for a one-year contract-extension deal for P4.2 million.
Rico Villanueva also signed a new contract, ready to plunge back into action having recovered from a knee injury.
Ginebra also re-signed Yancy de Ocampo, thus, keeping a solid frontline rotation despite Rudy Hatfield’s decision not to return anymore.
Filling in the spot left by Hatfield is former FEU banger Neil Cervantes. (SB)
