The Philadelphia 76ers have shipped power forward Marreese Speights to the New Orleans Hornets as a part of the three team trade also involving the Memphis Grizzlies. The 76ers will receive two future second round picks.

The Philadelphia 76ers are currently in a five game winning streak. They are 6-2 to start the season; their best start since the 2000-01 season where Allen Iverson was still in town. Doug Collins has done a great job on his second year with the team. Last season, Collins lead the 76ers into the playoffs.

The Philadelphia 76ers are back on winning ways. The 76ers added more woes to the Washington Wizards with a 103-90 win. Andre Iguodala took charge with 23 points. Lou Williams had a team high 24 points off the bench. Thaddeus Young added 18 points from the bench as well.

One of the earliest surprise of the NBA 2011-2012 Season is that the Philadelphia 76ers are currently at top of the Atlantic Division with a 9-3 record.
Next are the New York Knicks with a .500 record at 6-6. Traditional powerhouse Boston Celtics are 4-7. Toronto with a 4-9 record and New Jersey at the bottom with 3-10.
The 76ers entered the season with less hype. They signed Thaddeus Young and their rookies and went to work. Several eyes were on the New York Knicks and their acquisition of Tyson Chandler. Paring him with Stoudemire and Anthony.
Then some were focused on how the Boston Celtics lead by Rajon Rondo will muscle in with veteran presence. Some were fixated with the situation involving potential blockbuster moves in New Jersey.
While the 76ers thrived quietly. Doug Collins has done a great job in molding the 76ers into a defensive team. Collins made sure to entail the Xs and Os to the team. Now their off to the best start in 11 years; from the time where Allen Iverson lead the way with winning ways.
So far so good.

The Philadelphia 76ers still lead the Atlantic Division with a 12-5 record.
Andre Iguodala is now more than a scorer, he is a leader of the team. Iguodala leads by example through his versatility on the court. Last night, Iguodala's statline: 7 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists, 2 steals and a block.
While I am surprised by the production of the guard rotations of Holiday, Meeks, Turner and Turner.
As the season progresses, I look for Vucevic and Lavoy Allen to get into the mix.
