They will justify it by saying Denok was instrumental in bagging the Governor's cup title. and Petron will add an icing to the cake(their future first round pick - - that eventually(next year) they will get it back by giving another future pick)

At least the Air 21 are honest(during the trade of the top 3 picks last year). I mean, they don't want to rebuild, because they want to win now(last season). - - Because this season(now) there will be no more Air 21..

                • BMEG is hell bent on getting the 5th for Gallent to pick his boy Barroca

plus he can play d in the opposing guards just as roger yap yet he can burn the hoop like what PJ simon can do in a team...
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                  1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

                  • we do not need a back up for point guard i have a feeling that Tenorio might leave Aces before the next season ends, he is very good but he can't lead no team without a cornerstone player (Diamon Simpson and Willie Miller)

                    • MANILA, Philippines - Julias Pascualado scored nine of his 11 points in the third quarter as Barako Bull-Red rallied to beat Rain or Shine-White, 76-72, in the PBA rookie camp at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City last Wednesday.

Pascualado’s solid game impressed Powerade coach Bo Perasol and Alaska assistant mentor Luigi Trillo.

“He has the skill. He could be an option,” said Perasol, whose team holds the No. 1 draft rights in Sunday’s Annual Draft at Robinsons Place Manila.

                        • BARROCA, BALLESTEROS, MALIKSI SHINE IN ROOKIE CAMP SKILLS TEST

Rookie hopefuls showed up in full force for Day 1 of the 2011 PBA Rookie Camp with some big names from Smart-Gilas and the D-League and a sprinkling of unknowns showing up their counterparts in the skills test held at the Club 650 gym in Libis, Quezon City.

Speedster Mark Barroca, seen as a high to mid-first round pick in the 2011 Rookie Draft, recorded the most number of push ups at 107. Another Smart-Gilas National Jason Ballesteros tied with PBA D-League Most Valuable Player Allein Maliksi for the highest vertical leap, reaching the bar at 11 feet and 2 inches.

Cebu-born Julius Pasculado topped two categories, emerging the fastest of the group with a clocking of 6.19 seconds in the 50-meter sprint and making 19 of 25 shots from different points on the floor in the shooting drills. Smart-Gilas players, however, did not participate in the shooting drills, having just come from practice.

Another D-League standout, Pamboy Raymundo, settled for 2nd in the shooting drills with 18 shots made.

Filemon Fernandez was No. 1 in situps with 301 while Nino Nabong topped pull-ups with 28.

Former University of the Philippines center and one-time Smart-Gilas member Magi Sison is the tallest in the 36-player field at 6 feet 6 ¾ inches. Ballesteros was measured as second tallest at 6 – 6 ¼ but he had the longest wingspan at 82 inches.

Christopher Concepcion is the smallest applicant at 5-foot-8.

The pool will be divided into two teams which will play each other in Days 2 and 3 of the Camp with the PBA coaches keenly assessing the talents up for grabs in the Rookie Draft on Sunday at the Midtown of Robinson’s Place Manila.

The Powerade Tigers own the No. 1 overall pick and high on their list is JV Casio, who is fast earning a reputation as one of the best guards in Asia.

                          • This year's draft is arguably one of the deepest in recent history. You've got multiple players that can make a big impact on a team right away. I can think of 10 players right now that has a lot to show and their potential are just tremendous.

problem is he was a virtual unknown before the rookie camp...which is a leap of faith for the team that drafts him. and despite showing up in the camp, there is still a question of durability or stamina to play a full pba season, is he a liability on defense, will he fit the system or will the system be built around him, does he work hard or does he take plays off. i'm not a big fan of highlights and video clips that show tremendous talent and potential...examples, gerald green and james white...search their names in youtube and you'll get wowed but look where they are now.
