  • Americas League 2011-12

Bauru (5th in NBB last season) is the third Brazilian team to join the tournament. The other two are Brasília (champion) and Franca (runner-up).
Pinheiros and Flamengo (3rd and 4th in NBB, respectively) decided to take part in the South American League instead.
Any news about the remaining teams?

really. well it seems like they need to do a better job selling this event. I hope one day they let a dominican team participate in this too, that could be kind of cool I guess, but only when this strats getting recognition

I think you are mistaken, Basketball is the 2nd most popular sport in the RD and it gets a lot of media coverage but I have never heard of seen anything about this tourmanet if a Dominican team was playing than it will be in all the papers.

Also another season why I think this is wrong is because The Metros were not the National Champions in 2007 so why they got to go and not the champs? and also there is no team in any o the Dominican leagues or superior (regional) tournament with the name of Merengueros.

I may be wrong, but I got the info from fibaamericas.com

Maybe those teams were assemble for the competition, I don't know, but at least I know they represented Dominican Republic.
