(JBL) Toyota Alvark vs. (BJ-League) Hamamatsu Phoenix Higashimikawa

A heavy weight match-up indeed. Toyota is primed and favored to capture the JBL championship while HPH is a two time BJ-League champions. Kosuke Takeuchi vs. Atsuya Ohta.

(JBL) Aishin SeaHorses vs. (BJ-League) Kyoto Hannaryz

JR Sakuragi and his Aishin tackles the Lance Allred lead Hannaryz. Shinsuke Kashiwagi versus Haruyuki Ishibashi.

(JBL) Hitachi SunRockerz vs. (BJ-League) Shiga Lakestars

Hitachi is lead by Joji Takeuchi vs. Kazuya Hatano's Shiga. Hatano would be bothered by the height mis-match from Joji-kun, but his toughness will be a test for Joji-kun. Plus the rest of the imports would be interesting to duke it out.

(JBL) Levanga Hokkaido vs. (BJ-League) Shimane Susanoo Magic

Two of my favorite teams slugging it out. This would be a dream match-up to me.

(JBL) Toshiba Brave Thunder vs. (BJ-League) Takamatsu Five Arrows

A match between two bottom dwellers. Should be interesting.

After the March 11, 2011 disaster. There were rumors that the JBL - BJ-League would come up with exhibition games to draw a crowd and raise money for charity. Nothing really materialized out of it.
FYI, Ishibashi rarely plays for Kyoto -- 133 minutes in 27 games this season. He's scored a total of 22 points. He's very, very low on the Hannaryz's depth chart. He's more like a quasi-asst. coach.

    • Aishin SeaHorses players admitted in their press conference that they are still bothered by the lost against the Toyota Alvark in the Emperor's Cup. Though a number of them said that the loss serves as a motivation to beat Toyota the next time around.

        • I share the same disappointment with a lot of spectators with Link Tochigi.

            • Takumi Ishizaki | Chemnitz 99ers Profile

Most likely, Ishizaki will be returning to play in the BJ-League next season. It may not be in a Shimane jersey.

              • I hope Levanga Hokkaido will sign Ryota Sakurai to a new long term contract. Once Takehiko Orimo retires, Hokkaido will need a main local star. But I am also open to the possibility of Sakurai hopping over to the BJ-League.

                • Link Tochigi Brex is two wins shy of reaching .500 with a 15-17 record. Their next assignment is powerhouse Aishin SeaHorses.

                    • Up next for Levanga Hokkaido is the Mitsubishi Diamond Dolphins lead by Kei Igarashi and Ron Hale. Two very winnable games. Hokkaido needs to assert their inside game on this one.

                          • The most must see BJ-League game in the weekend is between defending champions Hamamatsu Higashimikawa Phoenix vs. Evessa Osaka.

Another east versus west showdown that is very fixating.

                            • The most predictable outcome for the BJ-League weekend series belongs to Iwate Big Bulls vs. Okinawa-Ryukyu Golden Kings. Two wins against the lowly Bulls will help solidify the first seed of the Golden Kings.
