Rookie Trey Burke has a fractured index finger and could miss the season opener.

Tough start for Burke. He had struggles in his summer league games, but worked hard to impress in training camp. Very unfortunate.

It is reported that the Jazz and Derrick Favors have reached a deal for a four year contract extension.

Both Alec Burks and Enes Kanter had their options picked up by the Jazz for their fourth year of contract.

Good debut for Trey Burke so far. 11 points on 5-8 shooting and even made a trey.

Enes Kanter is listed day to day but could be out against Phoenix tomorrow night. Doubtful that Andris Biedrins could be re-activated. But Biedrins' season debut for the Jazz is not that far away.

Good game for Trey Burke in leading the Jazz in scoring to eclipse the Phoenix Suns. Burke shot 4-6 from rainbow country and went up against the likes of Goran Dragic and a still recovering Eric Bledsoe.

Burke can shoot but must improve his ball handling and hone his ability to finish in the paint, much like the star point guards in this league.

This Jazz squad has a lot of growing up to do. Kanter and Favors on their year 1 on their own after the likes of Millsap and Jefferson left had a rough awakening from other big teams. Trey Burke is coming along nicely with his offense done in the NBA level but would need more experience in handling a team. Good year for Gordon Hayward as this is his breakout career season, got in the radar of Team USA.

Ty Corbin's future is still in doubt.

Utah Jazz have parted ways with head coach Ty Corbin. Reports from the Salt Lake tribune stated that the team is in no hurry to name a replacement.

Utah Jazz announced that Quin Snyder, assistant coach of the Atlanta Hawks will be the next head coach and will be introduced formally to the press and community. According to news, Snyder will sign a three year contract with a fourth year option by the management to pick up.

Snyder is one of those Gregg Popovich disciple that have since spread out through the league. Jazz like what Snyder helped with the Hawks bigmen last season and hope that his player development skill and player motivation will help get Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors for the next level.

With Burks done for the season, I would like to see more minutes for Rodney Hood, but chances are the Jazz will make the most of it with Exum.

Yeah, it is beyond ridiculous that Hood barely plays compared to some of their other guys. He would be a Top 5 or Top 10 pick this year easily.

This just in, Hood will miss several games with swelling on his left heel. I hope it's not plantar fasciitis.
