These results look a bit inconsistent, watched yesterday game (1st half) and US women played as they were coming from another planet...don't know today but looking at the stats they probably were much closer to earth !

USA basketball announced a roster of 33 invitees to the NT mini-camp (Oct 4-6), which will represent a very fìrst step of the road to the World championship.

Besides former Olympics/World championship veterans Diana Taurasi, Sue Brird, Tamika Catchings, Candace Parker, Seimone Augustus, Sylvia Fowles, Tina Charles, Angel McCoughtry, Maya Moore, Lindsay Whalen, Cappie Pondexter, Candice Dupree and Jayne Appel are several newcomers.
Among them, Elena Delle Donne, Skylar Diggins and Brittney Griner are WNBA rookies.
Stefanie Dolson, Bria Hartley, Kayla McBride, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, Odyssey Sims, Breanna Stewart and Alyssa Thomas are college players. Stewart is of course the youngest of them all (19y).
All newcomers earned previous international experience with other USA teams, except Briann January (Indiana Fever) and Alyssa Thomas (Maryland).

Women's team has a very bright future that the string of dominance could continue after the likes of Taurasi and Bird retire from the national team.

In addition to the wave of new players (7 collegians including 4 UConn) I expect there will also be space for Stanford's Chiney Ogwumike (22.4ppg and 12.9rpg last season) and Duke's Elizabeth Williams (15.3ppg and almost 3 blocks pg).

Bria Hartley, one of the 7 college invitees, will miss the mini-camp due to an injured ankle.

Truly inconceivable how such a standout like Chiney Ogwumike, a 2014 college PoY candidate, is not in !

Maya Moore in her young career is already well decorated as she has been a winner in the NCAA, WNBA, FIBA participations and in China. She has not even reached her prime years yet. She told the press recently that she is still training to overcome her weaknesses.
