I still hope it's not gonna be Alba Berlin he'll be playing for. If it is, I'd say it's a terrible mistake and a major step backwards in his development.
In Berlin, he would be choosing money over playing time because I'm very much convinced that he wouldn't be more than a role player there with very limited playing time.

Gonzaga surprisingly lost at San Francisco 77-81 in OT. Elias Harris again with a strong performance - 21 points, 8 rebounds & 2 assists.

8 points, 5 rebounds and a steal for Chris Standhardinger in Nebraska's win over Oklahoma.

Andy Buechert with 9 points & 8 rebounds in Winthrop's win over Coastal Carolina.

While Elias Harris continues to impress people in the U.S. and back home in Germany, Chris Standhardinger really struggles big time at Nebraska, being wasted as a PF by coach Sadler. In almost every game he played there so far at this (for him) quite unusal position, he didn't look too comfortable and couldn't use his shooting skills at all.
In my oppinion, he should get out of Nebraska as quickly as possible after the season to either join a college with a program, where he could get the chance to move back to SF, or even return back t Germany.
Under this coach at Nebraska, he most likely won't develop at all!

That is quite a similar situation to Lucca Staiger at Iowa State, where Staiger was limited to being a pretty one dimensional role player at SG by his coach while in Germany, he even played PG before. Staiger left Iowa State even during the season to join Alba Berlin, because he was stuck in a dead end street at Iowa State under a coach, woh seems to build up a record for loosing talented players to other colleges or clubs (maybe he should start to wonder why!?).

Ouch, they lost against the lab school. Had they lost against the law school, okay, but the lab school?

Acquahkofi is on a pretty mean scoring run though. Five against McLean school is a career high.

Gonzaga advanced to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament with a win over FSU. Harris had 13 points on 5/10 shooting. Next: Syracuse.

Another German talent an interesting college player to be?

Jarelle Reischel, a Point Pleasant Beach junior, is the Shore Player of the Year. - (Andrew Mills /The Star-Ledger)Shore player of the year: It's been an exciting time at Point Pleasant Beach High School, what with all the big-name college coaches and recruiters paying their respects.

And it will continue since forward Jarelle Reischel is just a junior.

``The list goes on and on. Rutgers and St. John's have already offered him scholarships," Point Pleasant Beach coach Nick Catania said. ``He's taken us to the next level. He's always working hard, pushing his teammates and making them better. He's the kind of kid who makes everyone around him better."

Reischel, who averaged 22.7 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and two assists per contest, transferred into the Ocean County school from Germany before his sophomore season. Besides Rutgers and St. John's, other suitors include Penn State, Temple, Maryland, Seton Hall, Georgetown, Providence and ``the entire Atlantic 10," according to the coach.

At a solid 6-6, 185, Reischel is a slasher who can pull up and pop the jumper. Catania likes him for something more than his athletic ability.

``He's the most special kid I've ever had," said Catania, in his sixth season. ``He's very coachable and a great teammate. He led the team in scoring and rebounding and was the hardest worker on the team.

``He's the hardest worker in practice. When we're done, he comes back and shoots some more. I have to kick him out of the gym."

Reischel, named the Kerwin Award recipient as the best player in the Shore Conference, led Point Pleasant Beach to a 20-6 record, a school-record for victories, and its first division title since 1968 as it won Class B Central of the Shore Conference with an 11-1 record.

``The funny thing about Jarelle is he could care less about stats," Catania said. "His greatest desire is to win. He was a motivating success in us going as far as we did this year (reaching the South Jersey, Group 1 final), and with him, we hope to build on that for next year.

Harris will stay at Gonzaga next year:
College basketball: Gonzaga University forward Elias Harris announced Thursday he will return for his sophomore season next year. The 6-foot-8, 215-pound Harris, a native of Speyer, Germany, averaged 14.9 points per game, a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game and shot 54.7 percent from the field (180 for 329). He did the right thing by moving over the ocean at the right time. His pendant in Frankfurt back then was Filmore Beck who is still to this day an one-dimensional three-point specialist while Reischel turned from a shooter into a slasher. Hope rumours aren't true about him loosing his shooting touch a while ago. Was invited to the U-18 NT but I don't know what happened and why he is not on the team. Will be a solid college basketball player and should have a future in Europe later on.

                        I from Wisconsin!

From what I have heard, Reischel couldn't make the current tournament because of his highschool. Nevertheless, Germany is doing quite well at the Albert Schweitzer Tournament even without him.

                            Yeah they have.

Honestly, I can't wait til the new generation takes over and Nowitzki finally retires. Then, German basketball can focus on team rather than individual.

Oh well, that's two years from now.

From what I remember, our U18 beat the US U18 twice, and our U17 also beat them once. Yes, we are winning...actually!
