I am looking for German basketball players in the NCAA. I am interested in getting a sport scholarship. I'm really good and tall . Of course the competition in the divisions in NCAA women's college basketball. Does anybody know how many sport scholarships exist? How do the coaches select the players? Do you have to go to training camps? I only found one German page with information about this topic. I also visited the official National Collegiate Athletic Association site (www.ncaa.com) and wikipedia. I thought that this forum would help me to get some "insider" info about this topic. Thank you very much!
Urspring School making their annual trip to the tournament in Tennessee and they advance to the quarterfinals with a 54-39 win over Henry Carr from Toronto, who featured 7-3 center Tanveer Bhullar:
Happy to see another kid from the Rhein-Main area making strides in the U.S.
Malik is from Offenbach.
Others from the same area include Jarelle Reischel (Frankfurt & Rhode Island), Jon Mesghna (Frankfurt & Maine), Roland Nyama (Frankfurt & Stony Brook), Patrick Heckmann (Mainz & Boston College), Dominique Uhl (Frankfurt & Pt. Beach HS).
Attended one game and watched a couple of games of Christian Standhardinger this season.
Compared to his days at Urspringschule, he is more of a power forward opposed to being more of a speedy and tall guard type. Not overly athletic and sometimes a bit rusty in his movement, he surprises opponents with a great assist or a dunk attempt. Pulls a lot of rebounds too and demands the ball everytime on the high post. Wonder what chance he has to make it to the NBA these days.

I personally know two young and talented german-born combo forwards in US, the older one 6'11" S.P. (born in '96 in Muldorf, Bayern) just ended his freshman season in a Junior College in Missouri, while the second one, 6'10" R.K. ('97) is in his senior year in a Prep School in Indiana and has recently received NCAA D1 interests. Non of them has citizenship of Germany though.

Still banned from official games due to his contract with a semi pro team in Germany in the 08/09 season. Had two impressive performances. Four shirtless gymnasts from Germany and the Czech Republic put on a spectacular.
