Named player of the week along with LeBron. Not bad at all.

Houston is 10-6 with him as a starter and If I remember correctly 3 or even 4 loses came after an OT and Houston has overall been performing surprisingly good especialy against top tier teams as Bulls, Thunder or Lakers. Their playoff matchup should be worried if they keep up with this pace. Haven't really expect that from Goran, but as long as he manages to keep that long range on the same level, I guess he is capable of just much more than most people expected from him, myself included.

Suns fans are feeling terrible with a reason, majority of them suspected what's coming, while being a non-restricted FA, he'll probably get a pretty large contract. Normaly Goran is in an ideal situation to get overpaid as there are quite some teams desperate for a starting PG capable of what he is doing atm.

Actually I knew to check how Goran is doing because of the increase in pace of comments to the youtube videos of him that I made when he played for the Suns. Most of the comments are Suns fans complaining.
Moreover, Suns fans didn't like Goran to be traded right away...

And it's not new that the Suns make stupid mistakes in trades...

I think this guy will lead Slovenia to the medal. If he won't Slovenia is doomed
LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:

              Jokubaitis, Marciulionis, Laurencikas
              Indrusaitis, Brazdeikis, Rubstavicius
              Buzelis, Lelevicius
              Murauskas, Sirvydis

To be honest.... Nesterovič is gone, Smodiš, Lakovič, Milič, Bečirovič, Nachbar, Brezec, Jagodnik are in noticable decline... and from what was once a formidable roster, our NT looks much weaker right now, unless for those that like to bet on reputation/names instead of actual current quality. I am afraid this generation lost the chance with Dragič's injury during playoffs in Poland (damn, damn and once again, damn ) leaving us with Lakovič once again as the only formidable PG during the tournament, costing us almost a sure thing medal once again...
Right now Udrih doesn't show much interest in playing, Vujačič resents for being dismissed after preparations as 13th guy both times he apeared and we're basicaly now stuck with only Lorbek, Dragič and Begić in their prime.

Dragič, Udrih, Nachbar, Lorbek, Begić is still potentialy a pretty nice lineup, but we've lost the individual quality edge Slovenia had in the past.
Hosting EC 2013 clearly is the best chance we'll have before switching to the new generation with Z. Dragič, Prepelič, Pajič, Omić. Yet those have the promise but will be too young in 2013, while other vets are mostlikely going to decline further untill than. It's a generation gap. I honestly doubt G.Dragič or Lorbek can do enough on their own to surpass the limitations of others... and no hosting team has won the title since Germany in 1993, that's something worth to be aware of.

What's about the Kelman Lorbek? He wasn't bad once. I know he didn't do very well at the Spanish league, came back to Olimpija, but what since than?

Domen Lorbek had some injury, went through the surgery and is now practicing with Parklji Ljublana, along with his younger brother Klemen Lorbek (88' born), which doesn't show enough to be considered as someone that would likely help NT in the future. Domen is a decent player, Slovenia still has some players in his mold, but "decent" isn't neccesarily enough when talking about medals.

I remember watching Dragic at Geoplin Slovan, when everyone was raving about Jaka Klobucar and didn`t pay much attention to him. I think he made terrific progress, but obviously some luck needs to be involved as well. He could have easily been out of the NBA after his shaky rookie season, and his value at the european market also wasn`t high at the time after unimpressive campaign at Caja Laboral and Murcia. Obviously, NBA is now PGs league, but Goran worked very hard at his game and im glad he made it big time. Will probably sign contract for 30+ millions this summer.

Regarding Slovenian national team, situation is not as bad as i thought would be once this great current generation started declining. Zoran Dragic is keeper, and i like Prepelic and Omic very much. Prepelic can be terrific scorer in Jaycee Carroll mold, he is quick coming off screen has good looking stroke (needs more consistentcy and better shot selection) and can finish with floater from mid-range. Omic is excellent center prospect with NBA potential down the road. There are also some other young players like Lapornik and Blazic which may pan out in the future.

True, but the generation gap will exist for a while. 92 and 93 generations will need few more years, before they'll be able to contribute on the NT level.

U20 has Sagadin as HC, home court advantage, strong inside presence (which is basicaly not that common when it comes to U20 or U18) in Omić and Pajič, than Brodnik, Besedič and Vrankovič (Maribor, loaned from Helios) hopefully he is healthy) on SF and Prepelič, Korošec, Špan on guard. Adding Rupnik (PG) , Lapornik (PG), Rojc (SG/SF) and Dimec(C) from 93' generation... basicaly although I am not into paying the same ammount of attention to talents as I once was, I believe this is our deepest U20 NT since the 84' or 80' generation (both won gold). Apart from Omić and Prepelič some others might evolve nicely, I kind of like Brodnik in his limited minutes, Rojc was doing well in primer time with Krka, while Dimec adding some mass is also a definite potential considering his 210 cm, with decent agility and attitude. If these generations get developed properly, than there is a lot less to worry when it comes to the future of our NT

That's what I was thinking about, but you really have a chance playing at home and in best scenario I can see a suprise just as Lithuania suprised in 2010 WC with a young team. In my account even Dragič's, Lorbek's and Begič' trio could be a nice fundamental complemented with quality players like Z. Dragič. But you probaly right that is not enough for the medal. I really think NT coach should do everything to get Udrih and Vujačič for 2013. It's crazy how Slovenia waisting such material.

                            If you'll have somthing like:

                            Dragič, Udrih
Vujačič, Lakovič, Becirovič (the guy is still highly valuable)
                            Nachbar
                            Lorbek
                            Begič

that would be a heck of team. I really think Slovenia gave up too easy on the idea to gather all the best they have. The closest version of that was probably 2007 and only miracle didn't let you to be in the semis.

Backing to the Dragič, I think he'll be ready to be Slovenia's "Pau Gasol" in 2013. He's making that sharp improvement while being main Pg of Rockets and next season he'll be a starter in NBA as well, IMO.

It is reported that talks have ceased between Dragic and the Houston Rockets. Latest news is that Dragic is inclined to return with the Phoenix Suns.

SB Nation reports that Goran Dragic has signed with the Phoenix Suns for a four year contract worth $ 30 million.

                                EDIT:

                                Make that $35 Million.
