    1. The 26th FIBA Africa Championship. The tournament was scheduled to be hosted in Abidijan, Côte d'Ivoire. However, in 2011 Madagascar was chosen as host due to a political crisis in Côte d'Ivoire. Afrobasket 2011 featured 16 teams and was held August 17–28, 2011. Tunisia won the title for the first time upsetting Angola 67–56.
