As Sagesse (LEB-Div.A) gets ready for the new season, Rony Fahed is as eager as ever to stamp his experience in Lebanese basketball memory.

Familiar faces surround the guard, but things cannot be taken for granted. These are players Rony used to compete against. Now he has to trust them with game decisions.

“It’s not so easy [trusting new teammates],” Fahed admitted. “It’s a bit challenging, but I was ready for a change. All we have to do is play a lot of games, train hard to get used to each other and believe in each other.”

Under new head coach Nenad Krdzic, Rony is the starting point guard. His aim is simple… to have a good season.

“I will personally compete for a good season,” Fahed said. “I know what they are expecting from me and I will do my best to provide that for them.”

But all personal goals fade in the big picture, which is Sagesse. Basketball is a team sport, and no one realizes that more than Fahed.

During his 10-year career in basketball, Fahed has been one of the most unselfish players on the court, averaging over 5.2apg in three consecutive seasons.

So, personal goals aside, Rony will do his best to help Sagesse reach its goals.

“We are looking to reach the Final Four as a first step,” Fahed said. “Then, we will work hard and focus to reach the Finals.”

At the end of the day, basketball is a way of life for Rony. It’s a job he wakes up with and goes to bed with. It is not always easy to be completely happy with your job. But Rony is comfortable with his decision to join Sagesse.

“No regrets at all,” Fahed confirmed. “I made the right choice.”

So until the season tips off, Rony will be at the gym working on his game.

Adjusting wasn’t easy for Rony Fahed, but that didn’t show as the point guard deserved his first win ever in the green Sagesse (LEB-Div.A) jersey.

With 19 points and 7 assists, Fahed was nothing but happy with his performance.

“It [the start] was extremely important for me and the team. Thank God we had a good game and I showed a good performance,” Fahed said.

“I want to leave a good impression on Sagesse, its management, the fans, the coach and the players.”

Rony Fahed got off to a late start. But after a few warm up shots, he started a streak of five consecutive baskets… three 3-pters and two lay-ups to put his team up by 14 in the first 12 minutes.

As the game wore out, so did Sagesse’s sharp defense. Fahed and teammates saw their 20-pt lead dwindle to a single point toward the end.

But once again, Fahed stepped up. His 3-pter in the last minute of the game gave Sagesse the 4-pt lead and the eventual win (70-67).

Fahed is convinced with the win but was quick to assess his team’s mistakes.

“We have a problem in our zone offense, but our 5-on-5 defense is great.”

This defense that put Al Mouttahed in trouble couldn’t stop the latter’s rebounding.

Young center, Roy Samaha wasn’t at his top form on offense (3 points), but he showed brilliance on the boards. His 11 rebounds helped keep Al Mouttahed in the game.

“It was very bad as a start, but we hadn’t played any preseason games,” Samaha said.

“It’s obvious that we have some problems with our outside game, something that Brian [Beshara] would help with. But the season is long so we’ll do better.”

Al Mouttahed’s American forward, Norman Nolan had a convincing start to his season. He scored Al Mouttahed’s first two shots, and finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Not the best game he is capable of, but pretty reasonable for a start.

““It was ok,” Nolan said.

“Of course it would have been better had we won, [and had we] not missed the easy hosts, since we shoot 55% most the time.”

Al Mouttahed headed back to Tripoli to get ready to face Blue Stars at home on Monday, January 7, 2008.

As for Sagesse, the team has nine days to rest before visiting Champville Monday night, January 14, 2008.

Sagesse vs Champville (Today)

An organized Al Mouttahed team showed teamwork and chemistry as it cruised to its first win in the season.

Its talented roster jumped to an early double digit lead to end the first half leading 44 to 33.

After the break, the visiting Blue Stars team challenged Al Mouttahed’s lead and stole the lead with 1:33 to go in the third quarter.

Up by a single point, Al Mouttahed entered the last quarter with no choice but to win the game.

And so it did. Al Mouttahed’s players used their experience, a gifted bench and teamwork to wrap the contest by 16 points (86-70).

Norman Nolan’s contribution to the game was huge. The veteran forward posted 24 points and 12 rebounds to raise his average to 22.5 ppg and 11rpg in the season so far.

“I knew we were better overall, but sometimes we do crazy things at crucial points in the game,” Nolan said.

“[Today], we started better and played smarter earlier than the last game.”

In his first game in the season as a starter, Alain Boustani shone like a true rising star. The 23-year-old point guard pulled the team together with his 9 assists and 6 rebounds.

“Today’s win will give us the energy to continue,” Boustany said. “And I’m sure that game after game, our chemistry will get better.”

As for Roy Samaha, he showed enough game to remind everybody that he is keen on returning to top form.

“It’s a good start but I can give a lot more,” said Samaha, who had 13 points and 12 rebounds in the game.

“It’s just a matter of time and hard work till Big Roy is really back!”

Also Sunday afternoon, Al Riyadi went 2-0 in the season after an easy win against rookies Feytroun.

riyadi 3 imports and they won by 1 basket in overtime ...they played the first half with 2 imports but when they were losing they put in the third import...i wonder if they can win a single game if they had just 2 imports like every other team ....i know they are alot of riyadi fans here but how ignorant are they when they celebrate a 1 basket victory against a team with 1 less import and a much smaller budget in money ....riyadi should remove 1 of their imports and than show us how strong they really are and maybe participate in asia with 2 imports like everyone else if their that good ...great performance by sagesse they deserve to win the game and im not a sagesse fan just saying wat i saw i cheer for the best team who has the most lebanese not 3/5 of the players r imports and the 1 of the other 2 has lived most of his life in canada and doesnt even talk the language ...all sagesse players r 100% lebanese except the 2 imports ofcourse(2 not 3)

ur right but don't forget that riyadi is tired from the last tournament they played and vogel played badly + one of there best 3 pointer is injured...i'm happy that the game ended by 2 points and i could have been happier if sagesse won cause i want this league to become the league we had previously where all teams have equal chances of winning...there are some players in riyadi who deserve to play more like mazen mnayenmeh and ali fakhreddin and rami akiki...they must play in other teams so that the league will become more beautiful...they aren't playing in riyadi
about the game i want to give credits to fouad abu chakra cause when the game was 68-58 to sagesse he put ismael on rony fahed and that ended in a 12-0 run for riyadi...he stopped there scoring for 7 min...and i want 2 say it was a shame that sabah missed the free throws...i really love riyadi but i want them 2 lose so that the league will become more exciting...i think moutahed gonna do something since they have bryan bechara...yalla hardluck for sagesse...they played really great

Great game by sagesse, they were able to win the game.Sabah missed 2 free throws in the last secs,if he scored these 2 free throws sagesse were close to win the game.Ismael made the difference when he entered.
Rony Fahed was the best with 27 pts and 5assists,Micah Brand shines today with 32 pts.
The lebanese league is getting better,it was a crucial game for both teams, great fans really the old days are back.
Good luck.

lebanon NT should change vogel maybe with micha brand i saw the difference between the 2 players today big difference when a player scores 35 and the other 4 ....besides being more athletic micha shoots the ball much better than vogel also all the teams like jordan, japan, south korea and maybe more in the soon future are naturalizing strong players , why cant we improve our naturalized player if we have the chance vogel did alot for the NT and we,re thankful but now hes old and its time to move on , his game 2day,the final in dubai and the asian final against iran are the biggest evidence if we need someone to shoot threes we can naturalize a guard ...atleast he wont go 0/6 from 3 in a game :p nows the time we have the fiba qualifying tournament coming in july and if lebanon dont wanna get hammered especially under the basket and if they wanna having a scoring presence under the basket against the european 7 footers than its time for a change

Al Riyadi Edges Out Sagesse In OT Thriller
Source:www.pma-basketball.com
Date: Jan 29, 2008

Rony Fahed led Sagesse when he was on the floor, but all he could do was watch them lose their advantage from the bench.

The Lebanese national team point guard led his team for 38 minutes, before he was fouled out with less than two minutes to go in regulation.

Al Riyadi snatched the overtime win in the last seconds (89-87) and handed Sagesse its first defeat in the season.

With a season-high 27 points, Fahed and teammates matched the quick-scoring Al Riyadi all throughout the game and kept the home crowd on its feet.

However, and unfortunately for Sagesse, the decisive basket went for Al Riyadi who scored with 14 seconds left and sealed the win.

The exciting match-up between the current and former Lebanese champions went in favor of Al Riyadi who went home with four victories in as many games.

But zouz,i got a remark about Champville that the 2 imports are not helping the team, they should get 2 imports one on pos 1 and the other one on pos 5.
With all due respect,Karl Sarkis is not a PG and he's doing many turnovers,he dont have experience to lead a team.He can play as a SG more, and they missed a big guy under the basket.

This step will be followed by other prizes, the fans are receiving entry tickets to attend the games, the lottery will be on the tickets numbers , the lucky winners will receive the prizes at the end of the season.

The league is going to be the exciting one from 4 or 5 years, last exciting league was at 2004,when Sagesse played against Champville and all the serie of games (five) were finishing in 2 overtimes.:)
The fans are the best this year, specially Sagesse.
Champville is working a lot on this subject, and i noticed an acceptable number of fans watching their games.

PMA Basketball met up with Ghassan Sarkis, one of the most celebrated coaches in Lebanese basketball history, for an inside look on Champville’s (LEB-Div.A) season so far (2-3).

You have witnessed basketball through all its ups and downs. Where do you place the game in Lebanon now?

"The game nowadays is pretty much the same as it has always been. Some people always like to say that basketball popularity is not like it used to be, but I don’t agree with them. When I coached Sagesse in its golden days, we played many games with almost empty seats. Only in the big games the fans came in large numbers. The only difference now is that one team [Al Riyadi] is having an unfair advantage over other teams by playing a nationalized player [Joe Vogel] alongside two imports. This has been affecting the competition for the last three years. Otherwise, the competition would have been more open and people would have enjoyed it much more. From the technical point of view, the level now is much better. We are playing a faster game with more defensive pressures and much more organized teams compared to what we had a few years ago. The level is higher and improving rapidly. The only thing that was better is the quality of the import players. It’s because the clubs’ budgets now are not as high as they used to be."

Do you agree that the league this season is the best it’s been in quite a while?

"The league this season is becoming more enjoyable because the teams are somehow adapting to Al Riyadi's supremacy and are narrowing the gap. This is creating an atmosphere of competitiveness."

Is Champville this year the team you wanted to build?

"Champville is definitely the team I have been building for the last two years. I have been working with a group of very young players and now I think we are on the right track to start competing and challenging the big teams. Although this season we are standing at two wins and three defeats, it is important we analyze how we conceded the three losses. The team needs a few more games to reach its peak this season. We are still making silly mistakes at the end of the games and the lack of experience for most of our players will only improve after playing more games. Besides, I am still waiting for Ghaleb Rida to regain his peak after two years of injury."

Are you building a team for the future or now?

"I am building a team for the future. That explains why I took the risk of signing 90 percent of my players under 22 years of age. Only the budget restrictions are stopping us from making the extra step that will take us to the title battle."

What have you based your team on this season?

"The team is based on solid defense. The Blue Warriors’ defense this season is our key factor to reaching our goals. We are exerting immense pressure on the ball and we are working on the team defense in general. Changing the old school help defense strategy, we are helping less and pressing the ball and passing lanes more. Our problem now is working the defensive rotations and recoveries."

So far, what do you like and dislike about your team?

"There is nothing I dislike about my team. I love the team and I am 100 percent convinced that this is the best team I have ever worked with. I am enjoying my days with Champville much more than even my days with Sagesse. No dislikes, but some difficulties in teaching the players important details necessary to the game at this level… details that they can experience only game after game. We are a fast-learning team and I am patient. A Chinese proverb says, "The ox is slow but the earth is patient." I am aware that we are facing opponents with vast experience. We squeezed them to the end in the first leg. We will beat many of them in the second."

Is there one player you can count on to lead the team on the floor?

"I don’t like to base my strategies on one player. I believe that team sports should be based on team strategies. I believe in sacrificing individualism for the sake of the team. At Champville, each player is expected to be a leader by reducing his instinctive selfishness in favor of the group."

Where would you like to guide Champville this season?

"Our first target this season is to make it again to the Final Four. After that, we would like to see ourselves battling it until the last second of the season. We believe in ourselves and we are determined to keep working very hard to reach our goals."

Who or what is your biggest competitor this season?

"Our biggest opponents are Al Riyadi, Sagesse, Mouttahed and Blue Stars. We will try to eliminate them one after the other. I will never forget that Antranik are looking solid this season. Maybe we can count on them to help us by defeating some of the top four teams."

i don't understand how we're gonna face the brasilians and the greek without fadi...i mean we need to naturalise some players for god sake or we will be humiliated...really it's a shame...about BS i hope they get good imports bc with the way they're playing they can do some damage to riyadi and sagesse...same for champville they need 2 change kevin joley with a point guard and although he's not bad jarrid meril is not a center...they need a big guy inside to prevent other teams fom playing inside game against them...and mark accept my friend request:D:p

first of all i want to thank everyone that joined the group
second i want to ask from all of you again to invite people to join this cause ,
and soon we will start working ..
the first thing im preparing to along with daniel the other adminstrator , is a petition , this petition will be the start, i need help from all of u to distribute this petition on the inter and by email and on facebook , and i will work personally and also with anyone that likes , to let people sign this petition before games in front of courts , with no fear from any disturbance , political fans will cause when they see us in the courts , when we finish it will be given to the flb and all the club managements , and the next step as soon as we finish the petition is our presence in the courts to protest against whats happening

so please i know u all support , but for people who r really enthusiastic and ready to work on ground with me , please reply asap so we could contact personally thanks

and one more thing i am trying to contact any basketball show or ghayyas , so after this petition and work we could talk on some media or magazine and deliver our voice, so for those who can also help me in this tell me .

"were not against anyone , we just want families to be able to come basketball games , and learn more about it for the sake of its future , and for entertainment from the current situation our country is passing through"

looking forward for your help

and also if possible i need someone to help me with the technical stuff for the online petition
thanks

are you serious ? it is very sad for me.
you are very young to say like these things.

i understand what you say about politic and sport. And I hate that .we had (or have) same problem in Iran, of course it is not serious like your problem.but it hurted Iran during World Cup 2006 in Germany, when some fans cheered for past regime during matches against Mexico and Portugal.

we hear everyday about lebanon in the news and only sad news.

i really pray for peace and calming for Lebanon and other middle east countries.

maybe basketball help lebanon to pass this thouth years. i remember what your national team did in Japan WC 2006 some days after 33 days war.

Its another subjest man but if u want to discuss it i'm ready.I was kidding in the above sentence and surely i'm not serious,we are talking about politics in the lebanese courts and how some silly fans mix both sports and politics together,we are trying to stop these things from many years but unfortunately we failed in all these tries do you know why ? bcz some lebanese are stupid and they dont know that sports in general and basketball specially is something make the people happy unlike politics who make the people sad,angry,afraid.....and to be more specific, during a football game btw Leb NT vs Kuwait NT the lebanese fans fight against each other ??? is it possible in game for your NT to beat ur neighbour ???
I still have a hope....

riyadi 3 imports and they r barely winning the other teams ....remove their 3rd import and they wont even make the final 4 , just like last yr before they combined the lebanese players of champville and riyadi and put a 3rd import with them ....if riyadi are gonna go 2 imports to asian club championship , i think it would be better if sagesse or mouttahed go and khatib will play with them , than they will have a much better chance of winning the cup ...

The good thing this year that 5 teams are close to each other, and here i can say that blue stars will back to compete trust me,the team is negotiate with Kenny Saterfield or Danny Jonhson and another american center.Hopefully Blue Stars will bring a good quality players!!! furthermore Blue Stars have many good local players as Jean Abdelnour,Rodrigue Akl,Ahmad ozeir....

About Danny jonhsson,he still better than William Brown :D but yea agree he's not like before,he became old.Kenny Saterfield is a good but unfortunately he's a selfish player.
Unfortunately Rasheim Wright will not play,he got an injury from 1 week.He will be away for 4 months.
Riyadi need for the lebanese league "Calvin Warner" or "Ace custis" and maybe tony madison, just these 3 players could help the team.We saw many players came to Riyadi and all of them are great like " Dion Glover and "Mack Tuck" bass not for Riyadi who's need a player complete the team.About the asian cup,is much better for Riyadi to let Vogel and Ismael play without any changes,i donno how they choose Ace Custis to play with them in Waba cup as i heard !! who will be the center of the team ?? who will defend Garth joseph !!! I cant believe !
Btw zouz, nice job for Mouttahed really even i'm not fan of Mouttahed but i felt happy when they won and a sadness when they lost. Some Friends told me that Mouttahed have a great basketball school which it have attracted many young players(women and men) from the north.Keep this great work !!

what about riyadi players...who played and who didn't...if they played with full force then there must be a problem cause it's not logical to win a team without imports by this little margin...riyadi are playing badly this year

At the conclusion of the first leg of the Lebanese Div.A league, PMA players already set new records for themselves and in the league.

The local players outdid themselves.

National team and Sagesse point guard Rony Fahed has set a new career-high season average in points. With 17.9ppg, he leads Sagesse in scoring and is also the top local scorer in the league. Besides his points, Fahed also averaged 6.5rpg, 5.3apg and 19 steals in 7 games. His season-highs so far were 27 points when Sagesse hosted Al Riyadi, and 11 assists at Champville.

Fahed’s national team buddy and Al Mouttahed center, Roy Samaha, too is outdoing himself. After the limited role he played with his former team, Blue Stars, the 6’9” center returned to the league and is already the best among his peers.

With 11.6rpg, Samaha is the top Lebanese rebounder. In 7 games, Samaha averaged 9.3ppg, shooting a comfortable 54.8% from the field in 33mpg.

His best performances this season were at Anibal, where he scored 22 points and in the season opener at Sagesse, where he grabbed 11 rebounds.

Also in Al Mouttahed, Alain Boustani is playing the best game of his career, paving the way for what could be his best season ever. In 21mpg, Boustani contributed 5.9ppg, 3.5rpg and 4.2apg, making 53% of his field goal attempts. His season-highs were 15 points at Anibal and 9 assists against Blue Stars.

Over at Al Riyadi, Ramy Akiki is still waiting for his chance to prove he is what he showed he was during last year’s finals series. This season, Akiki was on the floor only 10 minutes each game, except for Al Riyadi’s last contest in the first leg, where he played 27 minutes and finished as top scorer with 17 points. In 6 games, he averaged 5.5ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.8apg.

As for the imports, all have already proved their worth to their team.

Veteran forward Norman Nolan is easily averaging 21.3ppg (53.4% FGs), the fourth in the league, along with 8.7rpg, 1.3apg and 11 steals in 35mpg. He had a season-high 32 points at Al Riyadi and 12 rebounds against Blue Stars.

Shawn Malloy is proving crucial to his team each and every game. Antranik’s 6’11” American center is dominating the boards with 14.7rpg (third in the league), and leads the league in total rebounds (103) and 3-pt percentage in most games played (53.8% in 7 games). Malloy is also Antranik’s leader in points (18.3ppg), with 50.5% FGs, rebounds and steals (10). His season-highs were 29 points and 18 rebounds in his team’s loss against Feytroun.

Champville’s Kevin Jolley averaged 16.3ppg, 9.2rpg, 2.3apg, 10stls 49.4% FGs in 32.8mpg. He tipped off the season with a season-high 27 points in his first game against Antranik, while grabbing 14 rebounds when Champville hosted Sagesse.

American guard Anthony Wilson joined Feytroun in the second game of the season, and has so far averaged 18.0ppg, 9.0rpg, 3.2apg and 2.5stls in 35mpg. He is his team’s second best in scoring and rebounding.

Two new players joined their teams toward the end of the first leg. Both Anibal’s Dusan Milicic and Antranik’s B.J. Spencer played two games so far.

The Serbian forward scored the game-tying 3pter to tally 17 points in Anibal’s dramatic win over hosts Champville, lifting his average to 11.5ppg and 3rpg.

As for Antranik’s Spencer, he very quickly supplied his team with 20.0ppg, 5.0rpg, 3.5apg and is looking to exerting himself as one of the best imports in the league.

keys for success in my point of view :

2-zone defense
3-playing in a fast tempo

btw , sagesse will participate in arabian club champ

Well said Marko.
Zone defense is very applicable in such big games,Mouttahed players are very good inside with Roy Samaha and Norman Noulan,i doubt that Brian Bchara will be ready 2morrow even i think the coach will use him.
And yes Sagesse is gonna play at the arab clubs champions which it will remind us about the old days when Sagesse used to get the title 2 times.

Also a good news for Mouttahed fans, next year a new court will be ready to be used by Mouttahed, the size of the court is 4000 fans.

Mouttahed is becoming a great team with a big support from the northerns,i'm from the north and this is my first time i see the people there enthusiast for a team.Historicaly, rare the teams from the north who'd thinking to compete,i remember 2 teams from the north Chekka and Miziara and both were not rich to compete.Good luck for Mouttahed today.

btw what the hell is happening to champville...i've never seen them like that..what a pity...jared merill was the only player playing with heart...i feel there is a bad atmosphere behind the scenes which is leading to this catastrophical performance...
Honeslty,Champville should change their foreigners even Jarred Merril who is a great player but not for CV,champville needs one PG and another one Center, they dont know how to end a game,i said many times that Karl Sarkis is not a PG,he's a shooting guard and they need a big guy to protect the basket, yesterday Nadim Souaid attacked champville's basket many times without any defensive reactions from the latter.I am sad for Champville!!

For bluestars they need to change wily brown...this guy sucks and they need to play more ahmad ozeir...their other imports is not bad and i think he will be able to improve
Willy brown will be changed soon as i heard,he's not good enough to lead Bliue Stars.

wow very beautiful game ..
big congrats from sagesse fan ..
did anyone see moe's dunk ???????? impressive

i wanna just comment that yeh mutahed did say some things about politics , for hariri , and they were saying some retarted stuff about achrafiyeh or something , these were the chants heard on tv...
i wish we could get rid of all this idiocy basketball is a sport ... were fed up

back to game i said yesterday some things :

1- kevin's foul trouble .. it stopped sagesse all the first half
2- fast breaks fast tempo .. this was mutahed's key today
mutahed deserves to win .. the championship is reaaally on fire with 3 very close teams ... all their games are ending by 2 or 3 points btw each other ... and a possible bs 4th top team if they also change the second foreigner ...

ps : moe fahes said on tv yesterday: were waiting riyadi in the retour to win themm ...
also this weekend and today 3 games ended in a very small margin in the last seconds

this is the championship we all dreamt about last 3 years when riyadi just won all games by 40 and 50 pts margin

greetings

1-Moe Akkary scored around 15 pts i think.
2-Yes,Brian played and he scored 12 pts with many Block shots.
3-The import of BS didnt play,Maccesskel and Willy brown played and both sucks unfortunately.
4-Moe Fahes didnt play i think u know why !
5-Blue Stars started the game with a 9-0 run, then and suddenly Blue Stars is down and Mouttahed deffensively and offensively is up w la7i2 3ala 3 pts shots.
6-Roy Samaha got an injury in the 2nd quarter, and he didn't continue the game, hopefully the injury is not dangerous.

i think if bs were lucky with there imports like moutahed they would have at least in the same position of moutahed and sagesse and maybe riyadi bc they have one of the best lebanese line up...it's really a shame...nchalla the new import will be superb bc bs are gonna represent us in waba and they need a good imports to compete

Well my friend Blue Stars were unlucky in this subject, they are working on this issue but unfortunately all the good imports are refusing to come to Lebanon due for crucial political situation in Lebanon,i assure to u that today the imports didnt do any efforts to help blue stars,we played almost all the quarters without the 2 imports.

antranik is getting better and better

why did blue stars do like this ?? i dunno very very very poor offense .. it is not not not exceptable during any conditions for a team like the lebanese like blue stars with any any 2 imports to just score 48 points @ home..
regardless of imports not playing and other stuff .. something must be done its not acceptable ... i dunno..
what about the standings ???

Antranik will be sure at 5th postion, blue stars 4th,in waiting for the game btw Sagesse vs Champville to know who is second btw sagesse and mouttahed.
Concerning Blue stars, man the 2 imports are not helping the team,we are obliged sometimes to play in a local lineup,i dunno where is the problem but i can assure to you that the problem can be solved by a new good imports.

*One more time new imports will arrive to join Blue Stars: Wight Williams and Derek Tarver.
Both Jeron Maccesskel and William Browm will be replaced.

*Riyadi vs Feytroun's game today is postponed to another date ,will be decided soon.Reasons for the postponement due to the reforms taking place in the central stadium.

Sagesse vs Champville 93-95 (OT) (Result of away game:78-73 for Sagesse in overtime)

Champville's best scorer:Jarred Merril 30 pts,10rebs and 5 assists.
Sagesse's best scorer:Micah brand 28pts

Champville:Jarred Merrill (30pts,10rebs,5assists),Elie Estephan(17pts),Carl Sarkis(16pts),Ghaleb rida (14pts),Kevin Jolley(8pts,11rebs),Nadim Hawi(6pts),Samer moucharref(4pts)

I cant believe !!! the game went to an overtime, when Sagesse were leading by 1 pt and still 6 secs,Jarred merrill scored a 3 pts at the buzzer giving the win to Champville after 4 losses in a row !!!!!!
The away game also the same story happened when Sabah scored a 3 pts buzzer beater to let Sagesse go to an overtime.
Congrats for CV and hard luck for Sagesse !

each time merill shoots a jumper and his leg is 1 foot infront of the 3 pt line they count it as a 3 instead of a 2 ..this happened like 4 times in the game ....1 example is the last shot he shot it was beside the basket almost and they counted it as a 3 i know the last shot wouldn,t have changed much but to show u how bad the refereeing is , any player can just shoot 1 meter in front of the 3 pt line and be awarded a 3 if thats the case + wen sagesse scored in 3 seconds its a doubtful call but why would they even stop the game if their is no way of reviewing the play ( like how the NBA uses a replay on video ).......

karim no need to start the same story excuses and excuses !!
Sagesse won many times at the buzzer and no one comments, today they lost in the same thing so this is basketball, day with u day not !!
Champville were playing pretty good in the last quarter and the overtime no doubt about it.
The referees were good enough to judge, and if you are talking about kevin's 2 pts at the buzzer, the referees were fair with it.

Blue Stars club who will br part of West Asia Clubs Championship (Iran 9 - 14 March) decided to change their imports and sign with the americans Derrick Tarver (192-G-80, agency: Edge Sports, college: Akron) and Waki Williams (206-F-82, college: Memphis)....

Tarver plays as a Shooting Guard, He has a good enough experience to be part of the blue castle as he played before in Sweden, France, Russia, Italy, Cyprus and Syria..While Williams is still young and has a lot to prove, His experience abroad was only in Norway last season (Played 9 games only) and will look to have a good career in Leabnon.

but ..im really sorry i have a full schedule from 2.30 pm till 7.30 pm

so if could it be at morning as we played once daiab .. or at 8 ill be 100 % in ...maybe we could get a buit more i can get a friend and make it a full court game ?:D

about sagesse game

the solution is one and only
change coach nenad ..
this will help in 2 things which r our problem :

1- find a system on offense ..
2-playing david and joe mansour on 3 .. which i think will make a difference .. especially in jumps and sizes ...

dont say no coach isnt playing them coach of thei level .. sabah in person told me "each coach has his own mentality with some players " so its a personal problem i recon

the problem isnt in kevin .. the guy is defending excellently .. and improving with a high percentage on offense .. he selects his perfectly .. the guy should stay

Champville's coach ghassan sarkis will travel to cyprus to watch a player and signs with him.

yea the foul was too agressive on derek tarver ! but i think that ghaleb is apologizing, derek was going to put a basket (fastbreak) so he was obliged to make a foul and it was like that so come on it happens a lot.
anyway what you say about derek and waki williams ?? from their first game they look good,we should give them some time to get known the system of the team.

Anyway today's game show us that CV needs a new center.
And calvin cage is just amazing, from his first game he was looking a great player.I think the performance of the imports were increased with the start of the return round.

u will lose to riyadi and well win and catch the second:p
anywayz the second position only helps for an extra home game in the playoffs .. not more .. thought this thing is very important for the 2 teams with the biggest crowds this season

i wanna ask is there a final 6?

i wanna ask is there a final 6?
A final eight not final six !
All the teams will participate in the playoffs.
Pos 1 vs Pos 8 -- (1)
Pos 2 vs Pos 7 ---(2)
Pos 3 vs Pos 6----(3)
Pos 4 vs Pos 5----(4)

Surely serie of 5 games !

Then Final four:
The winner btw Game (1) and game (4),and the winner btw game (2) and game (3).
Also serie of 5 games.

Congratulations Marko, without Rony Fahed u might lose by 100 pts :D
It was a double technical fouls one on Blue stars Coach Marwan Khalil and the second on Bassem Balaa so Sagesse took 3 free throws and the ball,in that time the difference were only 1 pts for Sag,after the technical Sagesse led by 6 pts.And honestly the referees were unfair for both teams.
And btw the sagesse's fans were fighting against each other during the game,a huge fight happened btw the mystro of Sagesse "Bacho" and many fans from Sagesse !!

i didnt knew exactly wat the reasons of the fight,i just watched with my popcorn :D
bassem argue as a fool when the referee whistled a foul on him,so immediatly the referee called for a technical foul and the same situation with BS coach.
In each basket for Rony, the BS fans were applauding for him,bcz really even he's playing in the other team but he let the people enjoy watching the game.

At last this week 2 derbies will take place, the first btw Mouttahed vs Riyadi this saturday and sagesse vs Riyadi on monday.
