Do you think is it possible for the SBP to assemble a tall and bigger team in the future? a team that have an average ceiling above 6'7', a 6'6' point guards, 6'8' off guards, 6'10' and 6'11" forwards, and centers that stands more than seven feet? what do you think of our chances in the international hoops, if we can muster this kind of team?

even an INTERNATIONAL ALL-STAR can't have that line up..
    maybe u can do it..
    PG-Balingit
    SG-James Walkvist
    Sf-andy Seigle
    pf-Ej feihl
    C-dillo

if your thinking that kind of team.. then you hav this line up..

      it's quite possible:

PG: Gabe Norwood, 6'5", Michael Palarca 5'10", Ryan Reyes 6'2"
SG: Ray Parks 6'5", Joshua Webb 6'3", James Yap 6'2"
SF: Kelly Williams 6'6", Justin Chua 6'7"
PF: Japeth Aguilar 6'9", Kerby Raymundo 6'7"
      C: Greg Slaughter 6'11", Gian Chiu 6'10"

      First 5 in Bold letters

      Reserves: C Samigue Eman 6'10"
      PF Joe Devance 6'7"
      C Jericho de Guzman 7'0"
C Ronnie Aguilar 7'0" (if Filipino)

Maybe its possible in the future if it would change our physical development genetically...

I believe they put up and assembled a tall team decades ago, I can't remember when, but nothing happened maybe due lack of financial support or nobody tall enough to make the team.

Taiwan did the same program but to no avail.

we already have a lot of tall men over 6'7". the problem is that most of them are soft walking sticks. strongmen 6 inches shorter can push them around. they need hardcore barbell training and speed training as well to improve reaction time, lateral movements, etc and lastly they need to be exposed to international tornaments.

Anyone who wants to replace a coach because his dwarf team keeps losing against bigger teams is wishing for a miracle and should get a magician. A more practical solution is to get reinforcements unless one is content to wait a few more years in the hope that the dwarf players will grow wings and fly over their defenders. PBA reinforcements will not guarantee a championship, but it will guarantee close losses which is enough to make me happy.

You are absolutely correct pareng pachador, and it would help more if our tall guys were born to play basketball with natural talent or skills...By the way that 7 footer ronnie aguilar is now non-existent as far as having filipino blood is concerned...ciao

well in a few decades we could assemble a line up with that height but our international counter parts would have a team that has an average of 6'9 or taller
you know why I am happy

                        Not that tall.

A tall team is good. But if you are talking about Pilipinas Basketball, a 6'6" point guard, 6'8" shooting guard and a 6'11" SF is not at all important and with our situation today, it is close to impossibility. Our guards are okay. What we need are Players who will be at the no.4 and no.5 slot.At least 6'9" for the PF and 6"11 for the Center.

A 6'4" SG is okay. I hope JC Intal will be able to improve his dribbling and shooting skills. Even Norwood, if only these two will shoot like a Ritualo, They will be big help in the Future of Pilipinas Basketball as Shooting Guards.

Kelly Williams is perfect for the SF position. Well, that's his natural position. Norwood can back him up. But we still need another SF. Who will stand atleast 6'6"

Regarding point guards, we have a lot of them here.

the most ideal is to have a mid sized (6'6) dominant scorer..not a shooter but a scorer. players in the asian level that fit this profile are Iran's Bahrami , Lebanon's El Khatib, Korea's Bang and China's Shipeng..we already have this kind of player in Danny Seigle, but he's aging and injury prone

Instead of Slaughter and Ekwe, I'll have to include JayR Reyes (6'8) and Asi Taulava (6'9) instead. Asi even if he's already old (late 30s), he can still spell some quality minutes for the younger guys. Besides, player rotation is just for 10 players. Reserves would be Jay Washington (6'7), Joe Devance (6'8) and Gary David (6'2)--if he's healthy.
