How can we have a better and more competitive league in lebanon ????????
-Sponsers for all 8 teams---> to have gd imports
-Change rules !! ( we have alot of very old rules ) ( min l 3aser l 7ajare !! )
- 'level A ' list is a gd idea !!!
- bring aboard players back!!
- every team must have 4 youth players on their team!!

NT:
-new coach for all NTs !! ( youth teams, mens team , woman ..)
-training camps!!
-play friendly games against teams stonger than us ( european...)

Having a systematic approach and being patient is all what it needs.. if we look for short term results we will only see ups and downs..

You brought up a very interesting topic.. but a very complex one, i think we should split it up as follows:

-What should the ministry do
-What should the federation do
-What should the clubs do
-What should the fans do

I focus on the fans, we should be more committed to watching games from the playground, as much as possible. We should get more involved with our clubs, we should get more involved in the media, it is a real pity to see such people like sobhi and the NTV guy leading the media, I can find 50 people here who no more about basketball than he does.

The league needs a new plan and new blood into it!

I was thinking about creating new rules like:

-A draft for 10 players from abroads which will be divided into 2 sections (the first one is for caliber players such as Matt Freije,Daniel Faris,Ali kanaan and another 2 level players , and the other section is for mid level players such as Tom Ammar .....) the players of the first section should be distributed on the first four leading teams (Riyadi-Sagesse-Mouttahed-Champville) and the section 2 of players on the rest of the teams.This will improve a little bit the level of the teams.

-the other idea is about having Arabs players considered as locals,it would be nice seeing Ayman Idais,Ismael Ahmad,Zaid Abbas.... in the league.

-the 3rd idea which isnt new is using 3 imports like before ( 2 on courts + 1 bench).

Those ideas need money and i believe when the federation plan and set new clear rules, many businessman would like to share and help.

On another hand,you the fans should go and watch the games from the courts, paying 7000 L.L to watch a basketball game wouldnt cost you much and u know that this 7000 L.L ur paying is like a little support for the game u keep on invading forums and websites all over the world

If we can create a joint super league (instead of the local leagues) between Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, for starters, then that would really improve the level.

It can consist of 2 leagues: League A and League B.
In the first year, each league will have 4 teams from each country, so 12 in each league and 24 in total.
At the end of the year, the last 3 in league A will be sent to B and the first 3 from B will be sent to A.

This league would have at least 3 very competitive and high level teams (instead of only 1 as that's the case in each league now).

League A/B can be expanded or a League C can be created if more countries were to be included.

A big league => more teams => better level => more exposure => better sponsors => better level => better players => better level => ... => better level.

+ daniab's idea to consider arab players as locals which will allow players to move freely between the 3 countries as well.

This would be an optimal solution but with the current mentality this wouldnt be possible.

Antoine Chwairy had this project in mind a long time ago and everything was planned out for this League to be in effect. When this topic became serious however many of the presidents of the teams withdrew due to various reasons but mostly due to financial issues.

i'am totally against the third idea !!!
i think the first and the second are good !!!!
but the best one is 2 foreigns with 1 aboard !!! + 5 lebanese players from the (A list) with 4 youth players ( under 21 )

if we combine all those ideas into 1 well studied plan it will be great

but i have a comment on dani's first idea if the top teams took the best lebanese abroad how do you expect the rest of the teams to be competitive? of course if we are talking of a pure lebanese league

but if we are talking about a super league than this idea would be great !

a super league means more sponsors which means better players ->better coverage-> more crowds->bigger courts

the idea of ElArz is really great and if we managed to create 2 leagues A and B it will improve the level of our national team alot

each team of level A can have only 1 foreigner , 1 naturalized player and 1 arabian player. (those players should be approved by a common arabian federation ) only high caliber players can be approved

only 2 of those are able to play together on court

(so they can give more chances to local players)

level B should have the same rules but instead of 1 naturalized player a normal foreigner

However, taking such a huge step needs alot of money and insurance so that sponsors can get attracted easily.
