this thread is to discuss the wild cards, today the eurobasket begins, hope there's no big upsets from day one.

I beleive that we have a big chance to get a wild card even if europe got 3 wild cards the last one will be for us i'am sure
becuz if u look at the teams that have a chance to get a wild card outside of europe are:

1-Lebanon from asia
2-Domonic from america
3-Nigeria from africa

and according to the criteria that fiba put for getting a wild card, lebanon have the biggest chance =) nshalla.............

In WC 2006 :

Nigeria was smarter than us but not better....
Lebanon won two matches against Venzuela and France
Nigeria won against Serbia and Lebanon :S

the mistake that lebanon did was that they played a very tough match against France and gave all they have to win ... so next day we were very tired we played very bad against nigeria and lost....
we must have played with the reserve against france and played our best against nigeria to win and qualify cuz at that moment the win against france was useless!!!!!!!!

2 out of this 5 teams (Germany,Russia,Slovenia,Croitia and France) and the rest will get a wild card so 1 wild card left will be btw Dominican republic and Lebanon!

poland,turkey,lithuania (the latter should beat bulgaria) they have been dissapointing so far,they probably need to win all 3 games in the 2nd round to reach the QF, I also hope turkey beats poland so that they take a loss to the next round, if turkey is in top 6 then the 7th qualifies.

Yeah, Poland and FYROM + probably Lithuania and Russia, so it's already two strong candidates for wildcards. Also Germany has really good chances to be left out of directly WC places, so you have another one strong candidate
