If Iran stays focused and plays its usual game, grabbing a win wouldn't be far fetched.
I think this Iranian team could outrun the Qataris.

qatar have good players if they play good defense and with a good shooting average they can make it...
Qatar played against iran a month ago they lost by 2 points after an overtime...but iran played without ahadadi and 2 or 3 qatar players where injuried... Qatar have chance

I expect an Iranian win, but don't underestimate the qataris, they mighht surprise Hadadi &Co.

If u had asked me Qatar or Iran . I would cheer fro Qatar (As an arab country).

But when u ask me between Iran and Africa, I will most probably cheer for Iran...

Iran was also missing Hamed Afagh in that game I believe.

yes and Matic used many of his bench players in that match.

Iran and Qatar (only official matches)

2002 West Asian Games : Iran 88 - Qatar 76
2003 Asian Championship : Iran 64 - Qatar 72
2005 Asian Championship : Iran 58 - Qatar 79
2006 Asian Games (R1) : Iran 61 - Qatar 78
2006 Asian Games (SF) : Iran 64 - Qatar 67
2007 Asian Championship : Iran 95 - Qatar 87

we beat qatar in 2007 Jones Cup and in two friendly matches at 2005 and 2009.

we have a very bad record against "African selection" , but we have a very good chance to win tomorrow match. for sure this is not a very easy match but Qatar is not a danger for the Irannian lions, if we keep our focus.

Easy win for Iran.

As an arab:
I hope qatar win and this will let us see Jordan in the final easily...
As a lebanese:
I would also hope that iran to lose and don't qualify to world cup so we get over them in the Fiba ranking cuz we are better....

I think it will be almost as difficult for Iran to win this game as it will be for them to properly pronounce the name of that country. Which is by no means making light of the situation. It is pronounced Gutter, but with the GH consonant and the sound that originates from deep within your throat. Normally, one should be able to do it after a few breathing exercises. I'm sure most of their player can't properly say it. Will the Iranians maintain the focus to do it? I don't know...

Hi Bozorgmehr, I am a big fan of yours. I know you are one of the scouts bec your analysis are always in-depth and can be pick up by the coaches immediately. With that in mind, please tell us if the Gutterians are also sensitive with their ears? and I also want to know if there is any coconut in their team? thank you. :)

Hadadi got his fame in the 2007 final against Lebanon.

despite of that, he's an average player. eventhough he plays in the NBA, but i don't see him IRan star.

Kamrani and Nikkhah are the ones who hold the Iran NT over their shoulders and drive for a win everytime.

Not a good performance by the Iranian team in the first half.
They are out of rhythm.
Afagh is laeding Iran with 9pts and a great defensive display.
Haddadi 7pts 8rbs
Davari had a burst early in the game (7pts total).
overall they haven't played good at all

Ali Saad 13pts forQatar

kerdito

At the half, 30-27 for Qatar:
Leaders for Iran: Hamed Afagh 9 pts, Hamed Haddadi 7pts, Javad Davari 7, Mahdi Kamrani has only 2 pts with 3 fouls and Samad Nikkhah 2 pts only.
As for Qatar: Saad Abdulrahman has 13 pts and Omar Abdulkader has 6.

No............
In the Fiba system Haddadi can be very userful in the defensive end, which is proved in the Olympics.(He is tall and his arm is long)
But in NBA,because of 3s violation rules,Haddadi can only be a bust.

i'm not saying he's stupid. i'm just sayng that he is not IRAN NT's star as he got his fame due to the 2007 final game only.

the stars of Iran are kamrani and nikkhah.
he comes in 3rd maybe.

Qatar managed to kick Lebanon and Jordan's ass in the first 3 quarters of the game.

but then they collapsed in the 4th Q and lost it all.

so far, they are kicking Iran's ass .... are they gonna collapse soon? or have they learned from their previous 2 games?

good game for Qatar, they've been the best fighting team in the tournament.
but as usual, they collapse in the end.

good game for Iran, they should start concentrating for tomorrow's game against Jordan now. I see jordan closer to winning over Iran. Jordan's performance has been the most stable in the tournament.

i mean FIBA Asia agreed that all these players play legally.

whether they are african, zimbabwaian, or american ... who cares?
we can spend the next 50 years of our lives arguing about the origins of every player, and in the end we find out that they all originate from Adam and Eve :P
